Hotel was ok, friendly staff although I felt uncomfortable being asked if I really needed a barrier free room as someone with a visible disability. Disappointed that barrier free room was single bed no option for double. I’m disabled not a nun ! cleaning of room was hit or miss as to whether it happened each day. Had to locate cleaning truck in corridor a few times to get supplies as my room hadn’t been touched for a couple of days / consumables not replaced.

Good sleep but disturbed by very noisy hotel water system when other guests shower

Remote was missing at check in mentioned it to the very friendly lady at reception who always had a smile and she got a replacement very quickly for me (she was great bar the faux pas re questioning my disability but I forgive her as she was really nice and friendly for the rest of my stay )

Bit far from the convention centre and Borussia Dortmund Football club considering that competitor hotels closer of similar standards are far cheaper.

At breakfast there were problems with allergens not being identified there were approximately 4 or 5 different types of milk in identical bottles so each milk was not adequate labelled (could have been another bottle dairy put in wrong place by another guest so dairy allergic or vegan guests have to avoid all milks to be sure) allergen labelling is inadequate and could potentially make guests very sick / kill them. Poor labelling of vegan options too, eg was cooked mushrooms etc cooked in butter (not vegan) or plant oil (vegan) who knows ? There was no labelling to show. Also loose nuts and walnuts in the breakfast bar (something to bare in mind if traveling with nut allergy) and no labelling of other products containing nuts. Only labelling of any variety of any items re allergens was a sign showing one type of muesli was gluten free and some small pate were labelled as vegan. Completely hit and miss and unacceptable for professional chefs to not label food properly when the consequences can be potentially harm guests

Hotel bar only open part of time and unfortunately not staffed particularly well so service on that front was slow and repeatedly hoping staff would become free so we could order another beer / cocktails. Although there’s a self service area selling bottles of wine in lobby if you like wine.

Overall a mixed review, would I return - possibly but to be honest, I’m more likely to go back to the Dorint nearby now I’ve stayed at both

We stayed here as we had a concert booked at the nearby Westfalenhalle. It was so close to the event and we could easily walk there. It is a taxi or U-Bahn ride to the city centre but perfect for us. It is right beside a beautiful park. The hotel is spotless, the staff really helpful and friendly and the breakfast had a great variety and was really good, especially the coffee. We would happily visit here again. There are no supermarkets nearby but there is a small tuck shop in reception, which is expensive but very handy. Overall we had a fantastic short break here and would happily choose the Radisson Blu again

The hotel is nice and clean, the room size is good, the bathrooms are very clean and modern, except for those in the hall which look very old. Food in the restaurant was good, breakfast was outstanding. Prices for drinks are too high and parking for hotelguests could be included in the room prices.

this hotel was so handy to the main roads but quiet enough to not think you were in a built up area. Hotel itself was lovely and clean. Staff were always very helpful and food was very good. Breakfast had plenty on offer whether you wanted hot or cold. Swimming pool was lovely and clean too and you can go straight to it from the lift on your floor which meant you could change in your own room for convenience and leave your valuables in your room. Plenty of towels there to use also or pick up at reception before hand. We would go back

The hotel was a good comfortable one. Although not much around by way of eating places, the hotel restaurant were good quality and choice and not too expensive. The location of the hotel was excellent for getting to/ from the airport and so convenient for getting to Signal Iduna Stadium. The hotel appears very popular with football supporters.

The reception staff went out of their way to make our stay memorable, as did the staff at breakfast who brought out pancakes for our two kids.

We arrived late and despite the kitchen just closing, they fixed us up a complimentary salad and drinks to apologise for the inconvenience.

Our kids were also given bee cuddly toys which they absolutely loved.

The facilities and spa are also fantastic. That was my second time staying as the first time, the service was so great. I will be back again.

I stayed one weeknight at the Radisson Blu Dortmund with no platinum upgrade or recognition of status by the staff. This was my first visit to the hotel since 2017. I have stayed here about ten times since 2014. Aside from the remnants of signage telling people what they must and mustn’t do, the only real change at the property is a convenient grab-and-go option for snacks, sandwiches, and drinks with self-checkout. This is a nice feature. The hotel restaurant closes at 21:00, which is not particularly convenient.

Else, everything is the same as previous reviews.

We visited this hotel for a nearby event at the convention centre. Hotel location was very convenient for the event. When we checked in staff were super helpful and accommodating in finding us a room at late notice, and during our stay went above and beyond to help. However, there were a few drawbacks to our stay:
*bugs in our room
*flood in the bathroom due to poor shower screen
*no slippers available for pool area
*poor lighting
*restaurant was close both nights we were there, first night the bar was very crowded so we had to order food from a take-out app to eat in reception. There was nothing else even nearby to go to.
Not quite the 4.5 stars we were expecting, but can’t fault the staff for all their help. They went above and beyond.

Stayed two nights in October 2023. I could describe it as a business hotel, but it is actually a bit nicer than that. Quiet location, outside of the city's noise, at the edge of the huge park. Getting there with public transportation requires about 10 min walking from the U Bahn station. After getting to and back from the hotel several times, I still could not figure out the correct path from the station to the hotel, I had to cross some streets in odd places. Maybe a few signs would make it easier?
Taxi from the central train station is just about 20 EUR.
The hotel is modern, rooms are large and clean, adequately furnished. The pool is on the larger size, maybe about 15m, I did some laps. The gym and sauna are great. Sauna closes at 8pm, at least on Sunday, that was a too early for me. Will stay again if I am in the area.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your review. It is rewarding to hear that you found our hotel to be more than just a business accommodation and that the quiet surroundings, proximity to the large park, and modernity of our hotel were to your liking. Our commitment to cleanliness and comfort is also reflected in your appreciation of our spacious rooms, which we are delighted to note made a positive impression. However, we regret to hear about the difficulties you encountered in navigating the path from the U Bahn station to our hotel. We are continuously working on improving the accessibility and convenience for our guests, and your feedback is invaluable in these efforts. Additionally, we acknowledge your comments regarding the sauna hours and will consider your suggestion as we constantly aim to enhance our guest experience. Our extensive leisure facilities, including the sizable pool and well-appointed gym and sauna, are some of the highlights we pride ourselves on. We are thrilled these amenities contributed positively to your stay. Furthermore, your willingness to choose Radisson Blu Hotel Dortmund for a future visit is the highest compliment we could receive. We look forward to seeing you again in the future. Kind regards, Your Radisson Blu Hotel, Dortmund Team

We (group of 6) booked this hotel last minute (one hour before arrival) for a weekend away with friends. Despite the late booking, the rooms were ready on arrival. We made full use of the swimming pool and sauna. Towels and bathrobes were available free of charge. Staff is friendly and helpful. We got good tips at the reception for a night out.

You will have to put a deposit down upon arrival and you will incur the city tax but we had no issues other than that. Just take a copy of your booking and that was enough for us. The staff are very friendly and are always happy to help

Is use of the pool and sauna clothing optional, or is a bathing suit required?
Answer from paulreevescom

Hi, in Germany you are not allowed to wear any clothes in a sauna area. However, in almost all hotels (especially chain hotels), you can choose to wear clothes or not as half the guests are not German. I wore swimming shorts here and did not have any problem. Enjoy - its a good hotel! (please follow me on trip adviser if this was helpful) Paul
