Hotel is closely located to the Messe Dortmund and surrounded by a park and easily accessible by the underground railway. Rooms are a bit outdated and small but clean and also had a small fridge. Staff was ok but could’ve been friendlier. They initially told me that our booking didn’t include breakfast which turned out to be wrong after we’ve approached them again a bit later at the reception after having double-checked our booking confirmation. Our room was on the lower floors and directly facing the parking lot which was quiet noisy due to the small parking lot and people try to get in and out with their car. Also, no room service is offered (if one wants to eat, the only option is to go down to the restaurant and get a table). For a four star hotel and the money per night, we would've definitely expected more in terms of standard and service.…
Stayed here for BVB V Rangers game. Perfect location to the stadium. 2 minute walk across the road. Not many places for eating nearby but underground was only a few stops away from city centre. We walked it to the city centre and took around 45mins. Hotel was nice and clean. Receptionist very welcoming. Room was nice but unfortunately just 2 beds pushed together so it’s annoying when they seperate Didn’t get to use the restaurant but note you need 2 vaccines + booster or 2 vaccines and negative test to eat in the restaurant. They have a fridge at reception offering snacks, drinks and alcohol. Around €30 euro for taxi to/from dortmund airport. Would definitely stay again!
Not what expect for 150 EUR per night in a German 4 Stars hotel. Rooms need to be refurbished. TV is far from a 2020 standard. Bar prices are sky high, but only when the bar is open. COVID-19 or not but this breakfast was a slap in the face. This is not how you make travellers come back in pandemic times.
Lovely clean good sized rooms with excellent facilities. Only negative was the reception staff were not as friendly as the restaurant staff and made me feel a little of an inconvenience at times. Great location for the football which is why we had come.
Bad points: bar doesn't open until 6pm. No locker keys in the swimming pool changing area. Good points: room was very clean and comfortable with free mini bar (water, juices and a couple of beers). Pool was a great extra - very clean. Great staff in the restaurant who were attentive but not over bearing. Delicious food (both in the evening restaurant and breakfast where there was even the choice of gluten free bread). Perfect location if you're going to a Dortmund match.
Perfect for going to the Dortmund v Freiburg game, hotel is literally a stone's throw from the stadium. We left our previous hotel which was awful and punted on staying next to the ground and this place was great. We got there at 10am and they checked us in and we got our room, brilliant for not having to lump bags around. After the match we came back and had drinks and some food in the restaurant, the burger and career salad were both really good, as we're the cocktails. Checkout is at 12 which gave us a nice relaxing morning where we enjoyed breakfast, went for a swim in the pool and lounged around. If we come back to another Dortmund game, this will definitely be our base!
Perfect for a visit to Signal Iduna Park for BVB! Better than first stay and rooms immaculate and spacious. Will definitely be back. Staff very friendly and accommodating. An enjoyable stay in Dortmund, close to transport links too.
Excellent location opposite iconic stadium. Stopped for a few drinks whilst picking up tickets. Drinks well priced and served by great staff in a buzzing environment. Full but did not feel packed and service quick
Stayed here for 2 nights to visit the Christmas markets. Easy check in. Staff very friendly and helpful. Had a corner room. Well designed room. Very large with comfy bed and good supply of coffee/tea. Also had an espresso machine. Room had ample storage areas and a good safe. Located next to large football stadium and exposition center. 2 minute walk to U Bahn. Take the U46 three stops to center of city and Christmas markets. Parking was free. Very nice pool steam room and sauna for no extra charge. Beautiful grounds and park nearby. Would definitely recommend. This is the first time staying at a Mercure hotel. Will definitely consider Mercure in the future.
Stayed here for one night during a trip of Germany and it could not have been better placed for going to a Dortmund game. The hotel offers free parking which is great and on a match day, if you are staying in the hotel, the roads are all blocked off, but the stewards have a list of guests staying at the hotel which is very organised and helps! You can leave your car here for free and you have peace of mind whilst going to the game. Room itself was very clean and tidy and staff were attentive. Will definitely stay here again when going to a Dortmund game.
