Every aspect at the Breidenbacher Hof, from valet service, check-in, stay, spa, breakfast, to check-out, is outstanding in terms of quality, service and thought that is given. Personal requests are met to 100% (in my case, some prep for a birthday). Despite the hotel being fully booked, you still have a feeling of privacy. An "oasis" in the heart of Düsseldorf. Thank you for a lovely stay!

I have never felt more and better taken care of than during my (short) stay at Breidenbacher Hof. Great Service for the customer is something many hotels put out as a vision statement, view succeed in making it happen. At Breidenbacher I felt every employee I interacted with had just one goal, making my stay perfect. Thank you Breidenbachers - you are the benchmark!

I have to admit this hotel was far the cleanest, most organised from what I have ever visited. The room was large, very convenient with a very practical, spacious bathroom. The soap, shampoo was amazing. The bed and the mattresse was very pleasant. The room and overall the hotel was super clean. The staff was super friendly, respectfull and helpfull. I have to note especially the breakfast staff, where I guess the staff manager was extremely proffessional, she had everything under controll. The staff knows your name and has always a kind word to you. Whoever manages this hotel, I have to congratulate him. Very statisfied!

I decided to spend some days at this hotel together with my family during autumn holidays for 10 days and must say best decision ever. From check in the employees very kind and professional always smiling and willing to help. We decided to have dinner at the new restaurant The Duchy and wow!! , the food is magnificent!!! The ambiance, decoration and taste of food was to die for but best of all is the attention to detail in the service you get from the waiters. I specifically loved my entrecôte steak and the chef salad I can highly recommend Our table waiter was called Torsten , very lovely and friendly guy we really got on well. We shall for sure be coming back to celebrate my wife's birthday on 05th November! The rooms are impeccable condition, and very very clean something that is important during corona times.

Dear Timomasi, Thank you very much for having been our guests! It was a genuine pleasure to host you and your family and to create a memorable stay for you. Although the current situation is challenging in turns of the pandemic we appreciate a certain advantage: Our neighbors from the close region area spend their holidays in the near and discover the local hotels and restaurants. As you experienced: These have to offer a lot and the Breidenbacher Hof, in particular, luxury, excellent food and beverages and a marvelous service! We are grateful for your appreciation of our efforts to make your stay unique and for your exceptional review. Stay safe and healthy with your family and be always welcome at Capella Breidenbacher Hof in Dusseldorf! Kind regards, Cyrus Heydarian (General Manager) and team

Pros - -Everything very clean -Large room -Good location -Friendly staff Negatives -Concierge wasn't very proactive. I first asked for a restaurant recommendation by the river and was told to go to the Grill House which was no where near the river. Second asked to book a specific Thai restaurant. It wasn't available which of course isn't there fault. But I wasn't given any other recommendations and just told it wasn't available. I would have at least expected them to offer some suggestions proactively. - The Maître D' at the lounge/restaurant was quite rude. He wouldn't even let me up the steps until i showed him my room key even after explaining I was a hotel guest and was simply trying to get to room. He physically blocked my entrence. It was very off putting and not at all welcoming. He apologised once I showed him a room key. -Room technology is showing its age and not working correctly. Room is controlled by touch screens of which only 1/2 of worked when we checked in and the other broke on the last night. This meant we couldn't control lighting, curtains and air con, was offered a new room but didn't change due to being 10pm at night. We switched off the room manually using the switch board. This should be checked before guests check in. -Spa and Pool area is bookable at the moment so due to Covid. We booked an hour and slot and somebody else was using the facilitates at the time we booked. No one was manning the door and we didn't want to share a sauna so we left. -Breakfast restaurant was full and we had to sit out in the lobby. I am not sure if all the diners were hotel guests but it would have been nice to give in house guests priority seating first. -No self service coffee was available in the living room due to covid which is totally fine. It would have been nice if the staff member proactively offered coffees and tea as a replacement. Overall it was an okay hotel but nothing special. Having stayed at the Capella in Singapore It definitely doesn't live up to the same standard.

Dear jbrook06, Thank you very much for choosing to stay as a guest with us and for trusting the Capella brand to be excellent, which it certainly is. We have great pride in meeting expectations, offering service excellence and luxurious and perfect facilities. It is also a fact, that during these times we have to deal with hygiene regulations and restrictions and need our guests to support us in adhering to these. According to our internal records, surveys and public reviews it works very well with and we have experienced only very few exceptions. Consequently, we appreciate your feedback which clearly shows what we are doing well in terms of offering a 5*-service and where communication has to be optimized in order to prevent any misunderstandings with our guests. The list you had made had initiated an investigation as to the nature and cause of your comments. Concerning the request for a restaurant booking we assume that our concierge/PA and front office staff have been contacted at two different times and the list of alternatives unfortunately did not reach you. This was a very unfortunate incident for which we offer our apologies. To find a touch panel actually broken in a room had left us rather bewildered as this has not happened before (usually it is opened when fused replacement is required) and made us think about various reasons for this and we have been unable to ascertain the cause. A room move had been offered, and we apologize again for the inconvenience caused by this. With regard to the Covid-19-hygiene regulations: Our hotel guests have exclusive access to their rooms through the living room. Should they choose to take the stairs which leads to the public bar, restaurant and lobby lounge, too, we are instructed to ask for either a valid room key/passport or for accreditation to reserve seats. Breakfast is offered in exactly the same way and provided in both areas, the beautiful lobby lounge and the lovely restaurant as there has to be greater distance between the tables. Hotel guests have privileged access to the restaurant, but depending on time and number of guests, it may not always be possible to take breakfast there. Fortunately, it very rarely happens that hotel guests enter the Spa area without booking a time slot or ignoring them. We are currently working on a solution and once again we are sorry for the inconvenience caused. Whilst soft drinks are available in the living room, we offer specialty coffee and tea in the lobby lounge. jbrook06, we truly hope, that you will accept our apologies and understand the explanations provided. We would certainly be very happy to welcome you again to create a truly remarkable stay for you. With very best wishes and kind regards, Cyrus Heydarian (General Manager) & team
