Just returned from a three night break with the lads what a lovely place. The hotel itself is clean and tidy although the rooms were compact it had everything you needed. Located on a busy street leading to the train station and river, it's still only 20 mins walk at most to Alstadt bars. Breakfast was light and continental with... More

If you're looking for a cheap place to use as a base to explore Dusseldorf, I'd definitely recommend here. It's a 5 minute walk from the Central train station and within walking distance to Dusseldorf centre too. The staff are friendly and rooms are comfortable and clean. Although there was quite the unidentified ominous smell in one of our rooms.... More

We stayed at the Mondial for 3 nights during a Christmas market/anniversary short break. We didn't have a big budget as it was last minute and the flights were a little more than anticipated, so this seemed like a perfect and convenient option. Now let me say this review of 5 stars is based on the price and our expectations.... More

We stayed here for one night, and it was fine. Clean, warm and with decent wifi this is perfectly acceptable for a night or two. The front desk staff are really lovely - they couldn't be more helpful and welcoming.

I stayed here for three nights when in Germany for the Germany v Scotland football match. The single room was spotlessly clean and of an acceptable size and there was no noise during the night. I only met one member of staff (when I checked in) and she was very friendly and her English was far better than my ridiculously... More

Except for a very good location (less than 10 mins walk to the railway station) and exceptionally friendly staff (no pun intended!), this hotel seems to have been the same since it's birth decades back. Plastered and spotted walls, plastered bathroom, stained furniture and a strong bathroom odour that spreads into the room characterised the room I stayed in. All... More

Centrally located small hotel, close to railway station amid Turkish restaurants and coffe shops. But still far eanough to avaid the peep show places. Looked like a quite safe area with mostly Turkish population. Tram station in front, metro just 5 min walking. Walking distance to downtown 20 min through the beautiful park along the Rhine river. Very friendly and... More

Good things are, without any doubt, location, friendly staff, overall comfort and very convenient prices. The breakfast is a bit expensive, but near the main station there are plenty of "kamps" where you can find something cheaper to eat. I also don't like the "moquette style" but this one seems pretty clean. Rooms are poorly lit and a little bit... More

I stayed here for two nights to visit the Christmas Markets. The hotel is 10 minutes from the main train station which makes it an ideal base if you intend to explore not only Dusseldorf but perhaps Cologne, Dortmund or the surrounding region. The neighborhood has inexpensive food outlets for sandwiches and a few mid-level restaurants and bars. The station... More

Basic hotel room in a building reconstructed from shards of the 1940s, and with a window on to a lightwell opening to other similar buildings. The room was fine but bump-into-furniture small. The bathroom was clean. There's an elevator. The free Internet worked, It was an easy 10 minute walk (with luggage) from the Dusseldorf train station. Reception managed my... More
