We stayed for three nights in early October using Malaga as a base for touring the Costa del Sol. The hotel is located at the highest point in Malaga with stunning views over the city and harbour. The hotel is one of the higher quality Paradores with excellent rooms with all the facilities you would expect, We ate in the... More

Stayed in the Gibralfaro Parador during a weekend visit to Malaga. This hotel has incredible views over the city. It is handy for the old town. The food and rooms are all top notch. I recommend this parador without reservation.

My wife and I stayed at this Parador for 3 nights in October. We had made the booking nearly one year earlier when we booked the rest of our trip. This is a lovely, small Parador on the hill overlooking Malaga, right next to the Castillo de Gibralfaro. We had a room on the 3rd floor with a balcony and... More

From our snazzy room on the 2nd floor we had a spectacular view of the Port and the surroundings. Recepcion was superb, without us asking we were upgraded to a higher floor with a better view. As our room wasn't ready, we were invited to the bar for free sampling of the local wines. Delicioso. We arrived on a Sunday... More

Paradores throughout Spain major on their specific location and this one is no different. There are two Paradores in Malaga, the Parador del Golf a modern building on the coast and this one on the site of the old castle Gibralfaro. But it is a relatively modern building, about 30 years old and we were told on departure that it... More

The parador has a stunning location, right up above the marina and port and has spectacular views during the day and at night. It was a bit annoying to see tour parties from the cruise ships coming along in front of the bar to also enjoy the view in the grounds of the parador. There is a very good rooftop... More

Our party of two spent two nights in room 107. We had visited Malaga twice before, staying in a Benalmadena hotel. This time we had chosen the parador, not as a base to explore the area but as a useful spot to visit relatives who live close to Gibralfaro. If this parador was therefore a perfect place for us, I... The Parador was a 15 minute walk or five minute car ride from the town. Up a hill so a car was important. Also the hotel recommended that we should not walk into town after dark but take a taxi. The hotel had a wonderful view over Malaga. People came every night to the hotel bar to watch the sun... More

You are paying-a lot- primarily for the view, which is stupendous, particularly at night with the city lit up far below. We are glad to have stayed the once but doubt we will return however. Ok, positives first. The view. The location right next to the castle and its lovely cafe...though very distant from The city centre. great bathroom. The... More

The rooms, the restaurant veranda, the patio outside, the pool, everthing is about the magnificent view. The location is breathtaking and worthwhile to stay in this Parador. Its's not an antic castle nor monastery but the grand view is priceless. In addition a nice stroll to the real castel and further down to the cathedral and the beautiful old part... More
