This is a very nice friendly hotel, located in a nice spot just a minute away from the shops, bars and beach. The hotel is about 10 to 15 minute walk away from the main area of Torremolinos where there is a lift that takes you up to the main shopping area. The rooftop pool, bar and sun lounge area is a nice extra and the view is lovely which makes up for the fact that as the hotel is not actually on the seafront means that the views from the rooms are not that good and overlook roads and other buildings. The rooms are large and comfortable but basic with a kitchen area but no kitchen facilities. The TV has plenty of English channels. The balcony is very small. The rooms are not soundproofed and the door into the room very badly fitted so it was quite noisy and light from the hallway came into the room during the night so we had to place a towel on the floor in front of the door to blot out the light but I think the cost of the hotel means that it is still a very good deal. The food was in the main, good, if not repetitive (mainly pork) but again was very good value for your money. All in all, it was a lovely week away and I do not regret my choice of hotel.

Dear guest, Thank you very much for leaving your comment about your stay with us. We are very glad to hear that you have enjoyed your stay, and the positive aspects about our hotel. For some possibly kitchen facilities, like a coffee machine, you could upgrade to a Junior Suite Superior room which has one. Also some of our balcony are bigger on the upper floors of the hotel, for example the Superior Suites. They also have better views, as our Junior Suites are located on the 1st up to and including the 4th floor. As the hotel is surrounded bij streets and buildings, most of the balcony don´t have perfect views. Again, we want to thank you for your stay and with this said we want to wish you with our whole team a merry Christmas and a lovely New-Year with the best wishes and ofcourse a good health. We hope to welcome you again very soon. Kind regards, Alua Sun Lago Rojo

I’ve been in this hotel a few times but going back in October I found the food was not as good seemed like pork was on menu every night not much choice but breakfast was good choice staff was rushed off there feet not very relaxing around meal times people aren’t very friendly the pool and sun terrace on roof is the best part of the hotel very relaxing with nice views a lovley bar man hotel down stairs bar reminds me of a residential home not a lot going on and people doesn’t seem friendly only on happy hour at the bar drinks I love this hotel as it’s located not far from beach shops and everything I need but I do think a little thought needs being put into the hotel to make it a happier stay

We're coming twice or three times a year in this hotel and booked the junior premium suite. The staff, the people at the reception and special the director David Garcia Ortiz, are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are very clean and the food is good and every day different. The location is super because the shops and the beach are very nearby only a couple of minutes from the hotel. Every time that we visit the hotel Lago Rojo we have a great and nice holiday. We are from Holland and when you need medical support the Dutch doctor is five minutes from the hotel. The only things we missed is some Dutch tv chanels, a pot on the breakfast table and a bin in the room. So we recommend this hotel and in our opinion we give this hotel a 10 out of 10.

This hotel is located adjacent to La Carihuela and close to a wide variety of restaurants and shops. The accommodation was superb, spotless with outstanding daily service. The outstanding selection of beautifully presented options for both breakfast and lunch was supplemented by the items freshly prepared by the chefs to order. A great holiday experience

Just returned from a 4 night stay at this hotel. Decided to go solo for a cheeky break away. Arrived and easily checked in . My junior suite was very spacious and clean. Lots of hanging space and shelf space. A small chest of drawers and a luggage stand was useful.the bathroom was of a great size. A shower over the bath, which was good. A bidet and toilet. A basin , a small wall magnifying mirror, and a hair dryer . In the sitting area, there was a fairly comfortable sofa, coffee table and a single dining chair. A television, showing a selection of English tv programmes- BBC 1,2,4. ITV 1,2,3,4 and Chanel 5. A small balcony with table and chairs. Also a small drying rack to hang those wet costumes. There was only 1 plug socket in the room, which I found frustrating. The room had a small fridge but no bin!! The beds were very comfortable with nice quality bedding. The air conditioning was a bit non discript, never knew whether it was on or off. The rooms have no sound insulation, you hear everything from your neighbours, every toilet trip all through the night!!!!! Every cough and conversation!! No tea or coffee facilities, if you want these you need to upgrade. I felt the room was a bit dated and needed a freshen up. The pool area on the 6th floor, had gorgeous views out to sea. It’s spilt into two areas. The 1st area, where the bar is was a horseshoe shape around the elevated hot tub which wasn’t open due to COVID, it had lots of places to catch a few rays. Around the corner and up 10 fairly steep, stairs was the pool surrounded by numerous sun lounges, with 3 Bali style beds- shut due to COVID. Each area had sun lounges and were comfortable . The pool isn’t massive, and I thought was a bit dirty, the pigeons use to come and sip the water and then poo at the top of the pool steps. In my opinion, I thought the pool area could have been cleaner. The hotel provides pool towels , a €10 deposit, which are available at reception, if you want a clean one it’s another €1 . The menu at the pool bar was very limited, cheese and ham toastie, tuna toastie, pizza , chips. I went half board , as I was on my own and thought the food was ok. A good selection of breakfast food. An egg station making omelettes- cheese or cheese and ham. Also fried eggs were available. Bacon , sausages etc Lots of cold meats, cheeses and salads. Fruit and yogurt station Croissants, bread, toast etc. orange juice and coffees were from a machine. Dinner was average at best, meat dishes, vegetables, chips, salads, soups, Desserts were not for me, jelly and ice cream, cold rice pudding, cakes , crème caramel , and fruit etc The waiters take your drink order and promptly attend your order. Your given a bill , to which I paid each evening cash as I left the dining room. As an example €3.80 for a glass of red wine. €2 for a water. The average age of the clientele was of the more mature age. Not lots of British guests. The beach is about. 2 minutes walk from the back gate. You need your keycard to get back in ! The hotel is in a great location, you walk out the back gate and you’re in the hustle of shops and restaurants. A very nice walk around the area. Would I go back, no , ( room was very noisy , not from outside but from other guests and dinner not great ) but I would return to the area.
