Hotel Casa 1800 Granada is a charming hotel located in a fully restored XVI century historical building, the building is known as Casa de los Migueletes and served as the headquarters of the militia at the time. The hotel is decorated with chandeliers, frescos, cupolas and luxurious furnishings, always in keeping with the noble wood of the building whilst highlighting the Classicist and Mudejar elements of the original house. The rooms are elegant and cozy, some enjoy views of the Alhambra, inner courtyards, coffered ceilings and offer all kinds of amenities. The House is organised around a central courtyard where each morning breakfast is served and in the afternoon tea is offered to the hotel guests, who are treated to a family atmosphere and making the stay special and unforgettable. The charming hotel has a privileged location in the centre of Granada between the magical Albaicin and at the foot of the Alhambra. Nearby there are museums, theatres, monuments, shops, restaurants and tapas bars.

We stayed at 1800 Hotel Granada for 2 nights. The hotel was pretty easy to find, and although it is a little tucked away from tourist central, it was only about a 5 min walk to the closest square. Staff were friendly and attentive, and offered restaurant suggestions upon our request. The hotel itself is nicely decorated, and charming in a quaint sort of way. There’s a nice courtyard in the hotel where breakfast and complimentary afternoon tea are served daily. We didn’t choose to partake in either option (the food didn’t look the most aesthetically pleasing), but the other hotel guests seemed to love the afternoon tea! We booked a suite, and though the room was spacious and clean, there are decor elements that perhaps might be too dated for some guests (myself included). For instance, the bed frame is a bit dated, and the mattress itself was a little bit stiff. Overall, it was a completely satisfactory stay, and probably one of the nicer boutique options in Granada.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and could not fault the service, meals and friendly staff.
It was the combination of all the staff to provide attention to detail in every aspect of our stay that blew me away. The reception staff were ever so helpful in a difficult situation and guided us through how to handle it. The rooms were spotless and the way the ladies focused on details of tidiness, cleanliness in the rooms and in the shared areas was marvellous. The food service was exemplary. Empty dishes were replaced quickly and nothing was too much trouble - eg eggs prepared in a personal way for breakfast.
The offer of afternoon tea was indeed a surprise and very welcome after a day walking or on a tour. There was such variety of choice too. I’ve not seen this before and really made this place stand out as the best we’ve stayed in in the last 6 weeks in Europe.

Spent two nights in Granada staying at Casa 1800. We booked room 26 (Superior room with Alhambra view). Not disappointed, the room is not huge by any means but beautifully appointed under vaulted ceiling and specular views of the Alhambra. It located on the second (top) floor of the hotel but because it offers the view you have about 10 additional steps to climb to get to your secluded hideaway.

We enjoyed the breakfasts every morning we were there from 8-11am. Hold and cold options - scrambled eggs, bacon, lots of cereals, fruit, pastries and breads. nespresso machine for coffee and teas.

In the afternoons from 4:30-6:30 there are snacks available, small sandwiches and pastries as well as the complementary soft drinks, water, coffee and tea that are available anytime. When we were there they also offered a local liquorice liquor in the afternoon as well as champagne in the morning.

Staff were excellent, very friendly, courteous and spoke English, and put up with my attempt at poor Spanish.

Because it’s located in the old city you will not be able to drive right to the hotel as the streets around the hotel are restricted to local travel. You can be dropped off at Placa Nuave about 4 minute walk to the hotel. If travelling by car you park about 10 minutes away and the hotel will validate the parking to get you a cheaper rate ... I think we paid 19 euros per day.

I’ve stayed in many hotels around the world this one ranks right up there in terms of value. We’ve now head3d off to Sevilla and will stay at the other Casa 1800 located in that city ... stay tuned for that review!

Adios!

Hotel full of character and in a good location.
Staff very friendly.
Amazing selection of teas!
Very comfy bed with nice bedding so excellent nights sleep.
However, the “superior” room was very small with a small window. A bit awkward with two suitcases.
Housekeeping needs a little tweak - no toiletries replenished and this proved awkward mid way through washing hair!
Minibar charges also initially added to bill in error, though removed when challenged.

Perfect location. Excellent service. High tea is a nice touch. It was cold when we visited which was not so comfortable at breakfast time, the courtyard is probably lovely in summer. The breakfast was good but the cooked options were a bit limited. At our price-point the rooms can be a problem because not all have windows to outside. We asked to be moved from an inward looking room which was clustrophobic and we were very kindly relocated to a pleasant room on the 2nd floor. So, we could have no complaints but we would take care another time. Otherwise, this is an excellent option for staying in Granada.

We found this hotel to be charming. Had an upper floor junior suite which faced the interior courtyard; generously sized room with seating are, large bathroom, traditional old world decor fitting in with the 16th century age of the property. Room 8 was not handicapped accessible so important if you cannot climb steps to make this clear upon reservation.
Staff was friendly and very helpful with bookings.
Breakfast buffet was plentiful. We didn’t partake of the afternoon tea offerings but it was a nice addition.
Sitting room off courtyard was a useful place to also lounge.
Keep in mind: old building with room to courtyard windows means noise travels. For the most part wasn’t a problem. Folks were considerate.
Quirk: no bathroom ventilation fan
Great location in Albaicin neighborhood but easy to walk anywhere, even to hike 20 min. way up the hill to the Alhambra.
Get your tix WAY in advance for the Alhambra as they are VERY limited.

Hotel Casa 1800 is a charming, well located hotel central to everything. Nice continental breakfast with as much fresh coffee and tea as you wish. Staff are lovely and all speak English. We stayed in Room 10
Which was a bit stuffy and air conditioning was not great as well as shower door needing to be pulled inwards to avoid a flooded bathroom. But these were
Minor things. As this is a lovely hotel and very reasonably priced.

Taxis await you should you wish to visit the Alhambra or take the local C30,
C31 or C34 for a trip around the main points of Granada all for 1.40 euro. These bus routes will offer good bearings of the city as well as take you to the Old Town Albaicin and the Alhambra.

There is much to see and do in Granada or as little as you want to do. Hospitality in this city is great and typical Spanish fun both relaxing and charming. Good food is to be had here. Love the hotel and the city would definitely be coming back.

The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is a close walk to everything you want to see in the old part of town. They have a breakfast buffet which is nice to have before you start your day. They are supposed to have coffee/tea in the afternoon with a little snack, but they didn’t seem to have it when we were there. You can help yourself to some coffee or tea. The rooms are very small! There is very little counter space in the bathroom to put your things out.The hose for the shower is piled up in the tub so wrap it around the shower head to prevent it from causing you to trip. There are no tissues or wash clothes. The soap is the smallest we have ever seen, and the shampoo was not thick…it was very runny more of a water consistency.

Check-in is very slow. There is not a room we are aware of that doesn’t require hauling your luggage up a series of steps. There is a small elevator to the top floors, but you need to go up steps to get to the elevator and when you get to your floor, you will need to go up more steps.Since the rooms are so small, there is really only room for carryon sized luggage. The air conditioning is hit or miss. Ours didn’t work very well without being on for hours to cool the room down. We even had the man from the front desk come to check we had it on correctly. We left the air conditioning on when we went out for the day so our room would be cool, but the maids seem to be instructed to turn it off. Our room was very warm when we returned.

Breakfast is not really ready on time.

This hotel looks really nice on the photos and location. The rooms are really laid and the rooms on the first floor are really load since they have the windows on the inside towards the patio where the breakfast and common area is. No sleep without ear plugs since this is where people enter and leave and your hear the sound of the luggage wheels on the stone floor... The sound go straight into the room and the people can easily look straight into your room! There are some window covers but if you close them you have a room without windows.
Staff not open for complains at all.
It is not possible to park close to the hotel. Do not bring the car.

This 16th century building is now a hotel tucked on a small passageway off of the main square in historic Granada. We had 3 rooms here for 2 nights (rooms 9 and 10 and a junior suite). The rooms are small but charming. Our room overlooked the courtyard. The bed was comfortable. While the rooms/bathrooms are small, the overall experience was lovely. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet each morning and so nice to be able to grab a water or piece of fruit throughout the day. We did take a cab (as recommended) to the Alhambra but we walked everywhere else we went. The staff was very nice and helpful with making dinner reservations (wonderful dinner at Mirador de Morayma) . We enjoyed afternoon tea in the courtyard and breakfast in the morning in the pretty courtyard. We really loved our short time here!

Not steps, but the small alleyways to get there are cobbled and uneven. Once inside, I'm unsure if there's a lift, although there are ground floor rooms available.
