Spent a fantastic long weekend in Granada & couldn't have been happier with this hotel. The staff are very friendly & helpful, the rooms are sizeable, bathroom quite large too, nice décor throughout and the beds really comfortable. Slept like a log every night! And the location is perfect too - 5 mins walk from Plaza Nueva & the cathedral...

We had a lovely stay at El Ladron de Agua with our toddler. The room was great, with a large wooden ceiling. The staff were really friendly and provided us with a travel cot so we didn't need to bring our own. Lovely breakfast too. The hotel is in a great location for visiting the Alhambra (20-25min walk uphill, or...

We stayed here for 3 nights. The location is great, decoration very trendy even though it's an old building and the room was spacious and comfortable enough. Here is the problem: the day we arrived I asked the lady at the front desk where to get some takeout food because my husband had a fever and was told no food...

Dear Wooward63, thank you for your review. Our hotel is a XVI century restored house and furniture has been picked up carefully for every room, they are real old antiques. We have room service to provide beverages (prices and details inside a folder in your room) and free tea station is available on the library from 12-23h; before that, we...

My wife and I stayed for our wedding anniversary. The rooms are small, perhaps, by some standards but we've stayed at many boutique properties like El Ladron de Agua and find them to be perfectly cozy. We loved the floor tiles and deco- old-world with a touch of modern class. For Coffee Lovers: Just outside the front door, to the...

Ladron de Agua - "the water thief" is an amazing and lovely old palace in Albaicin, the old part of Granada. The atmosphere is wonderful and you can feel history in every wall. The rooms are very nice decorated. From the hotell you can see Alhambra and the street outside the hotell is one of Granadas oldest. The library is...

A great location and very helpful staff, the hotel has a small and intimate atmosphere, and is in the style of an ancient palace. We enjoyed our stay in Granada very much, partly due to this great hotel, which had a touch of style and was very special.

Great boutique hotel with excellent service. Location is perfect, for the discovery of the old downtown and the Alhambra. Building with a very nice architecture, spacious room and bathroom. Ariana at the front desk is just great: Very courteous, providing excellent tips on places to visit (so many to choose from) and restaurants. Also, the libray is a great place...

Hotel is an old aristocratic house with stylish architecture. We were disappointed that the house which had an open courtyard does not compensate for the cold in the winter with some properly heated bedrooms. It lacks cosiness. Staff is friendly if a bit superficial. The location is perfect. Overall a bit too pricy for what you get.

Very central, El Ladrón is perfectly situated for a visit. I think it's worth the €150 per night. The hotel is styled around an iconic literary figure and the names of the rooms taken from his poetry. The hotel itself is a classical Andalusian carmen with rooms balconied around the central courtyard. Service is friendly and efficient. Staff are very...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A building from the 16th century has become a hotel, taking its spirit from the essence of Juan Ramon Jimenez's journey and his poems. Its privileged location in the heart of Granada, at the foot of the Albayzin; its rooms bathed in the light of the Alhambra; its colonnaded patio; its lounge, vestibule and well/cistern... All these charms will lead you to the sound of water, and to a peace that will give you inner harmony. ... more   less
