Our hotel is a restored house from the XVI century. It is situated on the main street of the historical neighbourhood of the Albaizyn ( Granada), five minutes walking distance from the city centre. It is surrounded by gardens and different monuments such us the Monastery of Santa Isabel la Real, the palace of Dar-Al Horra and the San Miguel Bajo church. The hotel is also very near the beautiful views from San Nicolas, San Cristobal and la Lona. There is an enclosed parking lot and a bus stop near the hotel.

This little family-run hotel is a real find. You can tell they care about the details. Built in the old moorish style with a total of 8-10 rooms only, it is a terrific location away from the general downtown tourist area. Between the old Albaicin and Sacromonte neighborhoods it has terrific view up the street of the Alhambra. All very old, charming and historic. Lots of narrow, cobblestone streets and steep hills. Bring your walking sticks if arthritic knees are an issue. Great little restaurants nearby down a steep hill then along the river and an easy bus ride to town and the Alhambra on two lines that stop right in front. Simple breakfast included. Daughter Lola serves and her love of her neighborhood where she grew up is evident. Ingo often works the front desk and is very helpful with directions, restaurants and cabs. Also great English. Rooms and bathrooms spacious, simple but very comfortable. Lighting soft and warm. A bathtub and body lotion, what a concept! Clean and quiet. A great choice in Granada. (One thing we did not like. The hotel recommended a tour guide of the neighborhood and Alhambra and in our opinion, was not very good for the money. Alex grew up in Granada but talks non-stop and struggles with English and most importantly, historical details. You will do better with audio guide.

This is a wonderful hotel in a magical place. The best asset of this hotel is the staff. They make you feel like guests in their home. When we arrived, road construction blocked our access to the hotel. Ingo gave us alternative directions and waited in the street to make sure we arrived safely. He then gave us a great introduction to the city, with restaurant recommendations that were spot on. The hotel is located very close to the busiest tourist sections, but just a perfect distance from the craziness of Plaza Nueva. Our room was spacious and well-appointed, and the hotel breakfasts were excellent. If the breakfast chef asks you how you like your eggs, ask her to surprise you; you won't be disappointed. If we return to Granada, we will stay here.

Fabulous little family run hotel, breakfast included and Ingo was so helpful. We managed to book a superior room on the top floor and it included a parking space which are Rae to find in this area of Granada. The bus runs every 10minutes too and only costs €1.40 each trip and goes to the city centre as well as the Alhambra.

We chose the Hotel Santa Isabel la Real based on its location in the heart of the historic Albayzin neighborhood. High on a hill, the neighborhood offers dramatic views, including of the Alhambra, great selection of local restaurants and bars. If you want a less modern, more "old world' place, this is the hotel for you. The hotel is in a 16th century building centered on a charming courtyard. The staff, particularly Ingo, could not have been more helpful. He gave us good restaurant recommendations, sat with us upon arrival and oriented us to Granada with a detailed map, and fixed us a breakfast to go when we had early entry reservations at the Alhambra. Ingo, a native of Granada, is fluent in English with a charming Australian accent from his years living there. He even did some laundry for us, at no charge. It's very convenient that right next door to the hotel is a bus stop served by both the C31 (loop through the Albayzin and Central Granada) and C32 (to the Alhambra via central Granada) minibuses. Despite its location in the very old Albayzin, the hotel has a few indoor parking spaces nearby. Very useful to us, as we were picking up a rental car in Granada for the next leg of our trip. Be aware that the Albayzin neighborhood is set on the top of quite a tall hill. The center of Granada is close at hand, but involves a lot of stairs to reach. We often used the frequent/convenient C31 and C32 minibuses, particularly midday when temperatures were in the 90's F during our stay

We booked this for a special birthday trip as it was rated the best on Tripadvisor. Although the hotel was adequate there were a number of features that could have been better. The hotel is really a large family run B&B as bed and breakfast is all that is provided. We were given a welcome talk with a map but could not really understand what was being said as the hosts 5yr old? daughter continually interrupted despite my wife's distraction tactics from 25yrs of teaching. Because of this we may have misunderstood but the suggestions for eating were all closed that evening and the next. The room was clean and well prepared but it would have been better if drinking water was provided not just in the minibar. The heating timing was strange radiators were not on both in the evening and morning. Breakfast had a range of options and we were offered cooked eggs which was nice, but no orange juice in Spain? The ambience if the old house is great, the location has some immediate local sights and is ideal for the bus to Alhambra. But it really wasn't worth the €170 a night fee.

This a very comfortable, quiet hotel in a beautiful converted 16th century mansion in heart of the Albacín. All the staff were so helpful and friendly and la Señora made our trip extra special by recommending we visit Sacromonte and helping us with our tour of the Alhambra (which we had booked through tripadvisor who gave us the wrong tickets - booking things through Tripadvisor is to be avoided!) Our room overlooking the convent of Santa Isabel was superb, spacious, spotlessly clean and the bed was great. Breakfasts were lovely - fresh fruit, tortilla, home made lemonade, pastel with marmalade all home made. This is the perfect place from which to explore Granada. Town centre is walkable. Public transport is also excellent - buses reach all over the city from nearby stop. Views around are fabulous. We loved it!

Very recently my wife and I, together with other close friends, spent a superb 2 full days in Granada based at the lovely Hotel Santa Isabel La Real. This historic hotel, situated centrally in the Old Town close to the Mirador St Nicolas but quiet at night , has a central courtyard with rooms around this. We reserved the 2 superior rooms at the top of the building with views over to the Alhambra Palace:: light, spacious, well appointed and comfortable. Breakfast is tasty, with freshly cooked eggs offered, home made jams/marmalade, teas, coffee, fresh bread and ham/egg/etc. Secure, private, under cover parking is available less than 30 metres from the door of the hotel. However, the best part of our stay was the lovely friendly informative interaction with the local family owners, who also speak French & English. Charming, helpful and utterly delightful. Thanks so much for making our visit to Granada so wonderful

My husband and I stayed at Santa Isabel la Real hotel in Granada. We had booked the only room they had that overlooked the Alhambra. We arrived around check-in time, but the room was not ready yet. We waited a bit in the charming living room-type reception space they have. The room and the hotel we immaculately clean. The view of Alhambra was gorgeous. At night, you are within 3-5 minutes of walking to the Mirador de San Nicolas, which is an overlook that provides stunning view of the illuminated Alhambra at night. There are many great restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. Every building around you lives and breathes history. We once walked down from Albaicin in Granada to the main part of the city. Usually we took the taxi back to the hotel. There are also buses that stop pretty much outside the hotel and take you to the city center and to Alhambra, among other places. As you walk outside the hotel and go to the right, within a couple hundred meters you will be at a charming square dominated by Iglesia de San Miguel Bajo. There are lots of restaurants here, many with decent food. It's a very charming and memorable atmosphere. The breakfast at this hotel was quite varied with many choices. It was a great and memorable stay in a lovely hotel with an inner courtyard. Highly recommend it.

This is a lovely, lovely hotel. Stayed here for three nights, the week before Coronavirus started closing everything. It is a small (11 rooms) hotel in the old area of Granada. We had a superior double room, it was big, about 20 sq metres and that was before allowing for the bathroom. I must mention the bathroom because the shower etc was excellent. The breakfast is good, basically a buffet (egg dishes will be cooked for you) with a good range of choices and very good quality ingredients. Everything is clean and well cared for. The room quiet and the staff friendly and supportive. I could go on but I want to mention the buses, no 31 and 32, get to know them, particularly no 31. At 1.40 euro a trip, great value, they are frequent and a good way to see the city. Each go in a loop so just stay on it you will not get lost.
