Room Mate Gorka hotel is in the perfect location in San Sebastián, 100 metres from the Old Town, 150 metres in the opposite direction to the promenade and beaches and the main shopping streets just around the corner. We changed our hotel choice at the last minute and we were so glad we did! We spent a week here and from the moment we arrived, everything from the reception staff to the housekeeping team, everything was 1st class and nothing too much trouble! We had 2 small issues in the room and both were rectified immediately and requested bookings, through the front desk were acted on and communicated back to us, with perfection! We had never used this hotel brand before, but due to the excellent service we have received in San Sebastián, it will be the 1st hotel group we check out, for our next break. Thank you all, once again!

Loved the room overlooking the Square. Bed, bathroom and decor was great quality and attention to detail. Staff were genuinely enthusiastic and welcoming. Alex and Jonas on front desk very helpful and friendly. Breakfast quality of products was 10/10. Fresh pastries and bread. Breakfast room itself was lacking atmosphere as down -1 floor. A small hotel with a big heart. Not heard of the brand before staying here. Will look to stay in other of there properties in other cities

Hotel with perfect location, in the central Gipuzcoa Square, a 5-minute walk from the beach, in a historic building of great beauty. Breakfast served until 12:00 every day, which is an excellent detail for guests to allow rest during the holidays. Very friendly staff, both at reception and at breakfast. Good quality food, with delicious measured eggs. Only problem: Because it is an old building, there is no soundproofing in the rooms. We absolutely loved our experience at this luxury hotel in San Sebastian. Our room was large and comfortable, with a wonderful balcony overlooking Gipuzkoa Plaza. The location was perfect - right between the central and old town neighborhoods and just a five minute walk from La Concha beach. We were able to walk to many nearby attractions, and there were both grocery stores and pharmacies within one city block from the entrance. The modern design, excellent hospitality, and air conditioning were all appreciated.
Travelers should note that the Executive Room we booked had limited WC privacy. The room with the toilet did not have a door that connected to the ceiling, and did not have a lock.

Situated across a historic park and a few minutes’ walk to the best pintxos bars and shops in the city, you couldn’t find a better location. Although centrally located, the hotel provided a calm and stress-free environment after a day full of activities and eating. We welcomed the absence of hordes of people milling in the lobby that characterizes large chain hotels. Sophie and the rest of her team provided an exceptional level of service that made us feel at home every day. The hotel was extremely clean, well-maintained and tastefully furnished with spacious sleeping areas and a modern bathroom. Everything was top quality, from the toiletries to the in-room coffee and welcome pastries and macarons. We can’t wait to go back to San Sebastian and to this hotel in particular.

We stayed for 3 nights in a duplex room, which had a lounge and toilet downstairs and a bedroom and bathroom upstairs. The room was really clean and fresh with loads of space. We hardly had any noise from other rooms, and the only noise from outside was the semana grande fireworks (which was hardly surprising!) had a great sleep due to the very comfy bed and black out curtains.
Location is ideal - right between old and new town. We were provided with a list of recommended pintxo bars which was very helpful as there are so many places to choose from! Beach towels were provided if requested.
The only negative was that I had mentioned we were visiting San Sebastián for our 5th wedding anniversary and were slightly disappointed that this wasn’t acknowledged by the hotel at all, even a note would have been appreciated! Otherwise an excellent stay.

Just returned from a 4 night stay at Room Mate Gorka and cannot praise the staff and facilities high enough. Location is ideal for the beach,harbour and shopping areas. At our check in reception staff were exceptional, providing us with suggestions and maps to the various areas in San Sebastian. Our room was spotless - great cleaning staff - good shower, tea and coffee,fridge Breakfast, either hot or cold food, had everything you could wish for and attentative staff.
We plan to return to San Sebastian later in the year and will stay here without any hesitation. Thank you.

I stayed 2 nights in this hotel on the occasion of a sporting event held in the city of San Sebastian. The hotel is well located, it is located in the shopping area and is close on foot to all the city's attractions, 5 minutes from the historic center and the sea, basically I never took public transport to get around. Small but efficient reception, very nice and good sized room despite it being a standard one, really nice bathroom with quality materials and a very large shower. The only sore point is the breakfast which is absolutely not up to the standard of the hotel, both due to the size of the room and the average quality of the food. Having to use the automatic machine for a coffee or cappuccino, as well as the presence of poor quality jams and chocolate creams, are things that greatly lower the rating of breakfast. Personally I recommend doing it in the immediate vicinity where there are better solutions.

Modern centrally located hotel. Rooms are spacious, clean and come with massive TVs and a spacious bathroom WiFi seemed fast too but we were using it for leisure purposes. The hotel has a deal with a local multistory so parking is not on site but a 6 min drive away and £20 per night - not a big deal to walk from the parking to the hotel but may not be the best if you have limited mobility. The one thing I’d improve is breakfast - there’s a great spread but when we asked for boiled eggs they arrived with the whites still liquid and we found that the plums laid out were mouldy. The reason this didn’t bother me more is that the omelettes we had were spot on and yoghurts, breads and pastries were excellent so potentially those two things were just bad luck.

I arrived with my fiance early in the morning around 9 AM after an early flight from Madrid, we were disappointed ot hear from the staff that there was no early check in. However, upon checking she had provided us some good news and said that Room 101 is avaliable and we can check in right away, from there, everything went severely downhill.
We checked in and took a nap as the flight was very early, however, I struggled to sleep at all as I kept hearing water leaking sounds and people going in and out constantly on the floor, I then realised that the toilet that was in the room was fitted for disabled people, there was no shower with glass seperating and was a mere shower curtain seperating the toilet and the shower, please see photo attached. I was perlexed and didn't understand what was the case of it, however upon investigating I realised I was given a room which is for disabled people which was not told to us at all during check in or even when the staff decided to take us to our room.
Having booked this hotel through Hotels.com I have then been informed by the hotline that the staff actually admits that the hotel is completely oversold in my room category and they decided to try their luck is giving us a disabled room. Hotels.com agreed that we should not be paying anything to the hotel even our short stay of 2 hours in the hotel, however, I have received constant pings on my credit card to try and charge the stay despite what they have done and that hotels.com told them that they are not allowed to do so.
I would not recommend this hotel at all!

In Room Mate we are sure that the best way to improve our service is by listening carefully our guests comments. After making the early check-in and giving you the room available in your category at that time, instead of waiting, we have evidence that you were offered another room in a higher category which you did not want to change to. If you had left immediately on arrival, no charge would have been made, but you used the room for 4 hours and that room was not available for sale that day because of that reason.
