Some have called us "Spanish Spartan", or minimalist. We wanted to achieve a cool, calm and collected feel to our rooms, because we believe cool doesn't mean cold. A no-fuss, quietly stylish environment where you'll be able to unwind and make the most of your time on the island. Because we love what we do, we're always pleased to see our regulars, and look forward to meeting new guests. Welcome to the Palau Sa Font. Update 2015: It was time for a change and we completely redid the majority of our bathrooms. We opted for a updated fresh style and made sure that the new toilet flushes work smoothly :-) (we had some issues with the old ones in the past). Also, we soundproofed the rooms that were particularly exposed to noise. Come and tell us what you think!

There are a number of reviews which refer to this hotel as more like a hostel. I do not support those comments. It is a simple hotel in a great location, with good service and at a reasonable price. There are plenty of hotels that can offer you larger rooms and more facilities but you will pay more money for them. It is on a quiet, narrow street which taxis can access. Firstly the location is a real asset. It is in La Lonja, which is an area with a lot of reasonably priced restaurants, cafes and supermarkets. The Placa de la Grassana is a short walk away and has reasonably priced restaurants and bars. There is even a jazz club nearby. In terms of tourist destinations it is close to the cathedral, the palace, the port and the arab baths. It is also close to the main shopping street, Passeig del Born in Palma Old Town where you will find the likes of Zara, Oysho and H&M. We stayed in a Double Comfort- L room. It was a reasonable size room with a good shower/bath room. It overlooked the narrow street in front of the hotel. It didn't have a significant L-shape to it. The air-conditioning worked effectively and quietly. You could hear some noise from neighbouring rooms, but only when voices were elevated. The double bed was comfortable, though I would have preferred to have a double duvet than two single ones. There is a mini-fridge and a safe (large enough for a laptop) in it. There is a small swimming pool on the roof and a tower where you can get views over the old town. The staff were friendly and helpful. Due to Covid restrictions breakfast (which was included in our rate) was served to you. You go up and select by pointing or asking for what you want and it is brought to you. If you want luxury then this isn't the right hotel for you. If you want a good, simple hotel at a reasonable price in a great location in the old town, then this meets that criteria.

Unfortunately I have not yet been able to stay at this hotel. I booked with 5 friends for May 2020 and then March 2021. Covid restrictions prevented us from staying. The hotel both changed the dates of my 1st booking and then refunded my money altogether. This done without any quibbling or delay. Fantastic - we will definitely be staying at this hotel in the future.

Don’t waste your money here The hotel is after nothing but your Money and They don’t care how they get it. We booked a room online for 2 adults and 1 child. They put a cot in for our son who is 2, they said this is standard for any child under 3. For him to have his own bed (a camp bed) it would be an extra €50. We had just paid €200 for the room. When speaking to the co owner she expianed most hotels charge for a camp bed. We had been to 4 4* previous the past week and non had. It wasn’t even questioned. And the fact that it’s a camp bed for €50 is pure greed!! The room is basic to the point of being a hostel room. No tea or coffee or kettle in the room. But there is a mini bar ready to charge you!! The plus side about the hotel is the location. And that really is what you are paying for as there is nothing else. Shop around you can do better then here!!

Dear SJS84, Thank you for taking your time to review our hotel. We appreciate and value all the opinions. We regret to see that your experience was not up to your expectations. You can find in our website all the information about our policy of the extra beds and baby cots. Also anyone who is interested can send us an enquiry at any time. We are more than happy to explain our policy for extra beds and cots and to respond to any other queries. The price of the extra bed (50€/night) includes breakfast and VAT tax. And cots for babys are free. Baby cots and extra beds have to be booked on request as they are subjected to availability. When requested, we provide all the information to guests prior to the time of booking. So the charge for the extra bed is agreeded and accepted by the guests prior to arrival. Many other hotels do have the same policy than us. We are sorry that you feel this way and we hope that this incident did not stop you from enjoying your holidays. We remain with our best regards Palau Sa Font Team

We had a standard hotel room that was VERY small, could hardly believe they sell it as a room for two people, nothing was very good from the start. Pretty hotel, historic looking like, lots of people take photos of it, but everything looks smaller in person even the rooftop. Been traveling around the world and know what a boutique hotel feels like, the service is good like the staff try their best, but the lack of space cannot be rectified.

Dear AvaReed, Thank you for taking your time to value and share your experience. We regret to see that your room did not meet your expectations. We try to be very accurate and transparent when providing information about our hotel, so guests can choose their preffered room accordingly to their needs. You can find detailed information about the size of our rooms (m2) and other characteristics of the rooms and the common spaces in our website. The Standard Double room that you chose is the smallest of the double rooms. Some of them, for example the Superior XL rooms, are much larger and have extra living space. In the other hand, we are glad to see that you were happy with the service received and that you find the historic building pretty. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the near future. Bes Wishes, Palau sa Font Team

Ok for 1 night but not longer. We’d booked 3 and the wife was moaning by day 2. In all honesty the hotel is clean and the staff are nice people but the room was like staying in a hostel. The bare necessities and nothing more. On top of that the neighbouring room always seemed to have their tv on which we could hear. The pool is tiny and in a small, dingy, sparse area. Not an enjoyable stay for us.

Dear IPaulMM, Thank you for taking the time and reviewing us. We're sorry to hear that our hotel wasn't up to your taste. We are glad to hear though that it didn't change your opinion of the staff. We are aware that our minimalist style is not up to everyone's taste. Some have even called our rooms “Spanish Spartan”. We wanted to achieve a cool, calm and collected feel to our rooms. We can understand that you expected something different but we really try to be as honest as possible in our description. Regarding the noise we apologize for the inconvenience. We already soundproofed some parts of the hotel and we will continue with the project. We remain with our best regards Palau Sa Font Team
