We arrived after traveling all day jet lagged and weary. Air France had lost our luggage. The hotel staff made note of our lost luggage, offered us toothbrushes and toothpaste, and sent us to our beautiful room-which looked exactly like the one on the website. The bed was extremely comfortable, but the breakfast was insanely amazing. Fresh squeezed oj, several Mallorcan foods to choose from, great coffee and there were hot items to order if you hadn't had enough. All was included in the room charge. It's a gorgeous building. We had one dinner in the dining room next to the bar. It was probably the best of our stay on the island and the waiter (I don't recall his name) explained many things to us about the food. He gave us advice on our sightseeing the next day to Deia, Port de Soller and Valdemossa, all of which were spectacular.…
It’s the little things that make the difference.the brilliant. Staff, the way they remember you prefer the shady area by the pool, gorgeous female staff who glide like models, with a smile that could not be improved by an Hungarian dentist, staff who are there if you need a drink, but don’t press you to buy one Staff who clean your room whilst you have breakfast, and most important at my age, lights that enable you to read in the loo. Talking of which the bedside lights are great and all can be extinguished with one button so you don’t spend time before bed switching hundreds of knobs on and off. A bath easy to climb in and out of, and taps that do not require a science degree. A tv with the main UK stations ie not just the usual interminable, repetitive sky news. Not just a coffee machine in the room, but a good old kettle with packets of English Breakfast nectar. ( though maybe a more varied variety of cheese..at breakfast what about some blue ?…and more robust granola ? Oh and this morning they ran out of all bran, but I sufficed with prunes) Nowadays if you don’t want the formal evening dining menu, they welcome you on terrace…the fabulous “balcony of balconies” as it is known with a sweeping view of Palma and the ocean. The best choice would be the Tuna Taitiki..beautifully presented, like sliced Toblerone, only 17 euros, or a Caesar salad or beef burgers, for people with my simple tastes. Drinks a bit steep though, 1 2 euros for a Virgin Mary, not much more if you. Risk losing your virginity. Plenty to watch, by the way..two or three weddings whilst we were there and we enjoyed the music and people watch experience, But nicest of all was a great party on the terrace which the hotel gave for the younger hotel staff…presumably thanks for the seasons efforts but equal in drinks and food to that given to the guests. That being the case, although there with family (19 of us) for my 90 th birthday, would gladly take on a post retirement job there if that’s how they look after their staff ! One final small, t tough not the hotels fault..Russians who talk loudly and incessantly on their phone, and one in particular with funny white things hanging out of his ears, who shouted at someone , no doubt tending his shep and oligarchical bits and bobs . I waited till he shut up, and then loudly asked the lovely waitress if they ha d any Ukrainian wine ?…
Had a meal at the restaurant on the 1st October. The service was very below standard. Waiters were shouting at each other to communicate while they walked past our table. A waiter drove his trolley into the chair where my wife was sitting. The other guest at our table ordered a coffee with liqueur but didn't receive the liqueur. The wine menu was presented quite a while after the food was ordered. All in all, the experience was not great. We then ordered a taxi at reception, the taxi came and went and we weren't called and we then proceeded to wait for another hour for the next taxi!
Castillo Hotel Son Vida is an spectacular adult only resort hotel full of amenities. The hotel used to be a castillo or a castle at the time. Castillo Hotel Son Vida is specially famous for golf, so if you are interested in gold, this is the place. The hotel is not at Palmas downtown. However, the hotel runs a shuttle to downtown every afternoon and night.
Fantastic place close to everything but at same time settled in peaceful environment with breathtaking views. Excellent and super kind stuff and service, big rooms and stunning views. Lovely restaurant and bar with one of the 20 best terrazes in Spain.
A beautifully appointed and stylish hotel with an excellent restaurant, a lovely pool area and large terrace for drinks and cocktails (with stunning views). The service was both engaging, helpful and efficient . Simply one of the best hotels in Majorca!
Together with my wife I come each year to this traditional and iconic hotel close to Palma de Mallorca. We always book a room in the old part of the hotel with high ceilings. The room have been entirely refurbished this year and the breakfast buffet is excellent. We also love the à la carte dining on the beautiful and elegant terrace with a superb view on the bay of Palma. Head Concierge Pep is fantastic. He knows everything on the island and is very service-oriented. The hotel is close by car to the old part of Palma de Mallorca. I can really recommend the Castillo Son Vida to everybody coming to Palma!
Son Vida is situated on the hills overlooking the Bay of Palma, so the location is excellent. Convenient yet secluded and with great views from many of the guest rooms and from the pool/restaurant area. Was impressed with everything from the level of attention the staff give guests, the quality of room service and the gym and pool areas and general atmosphere. Also plenty of space for parking (including EV chargers on-site). Thanks for making my stay an enjoyable one. Will definitely consider returning!
On arrival we checked in at Reception and were ably assisted by the fabulous Ferran. A very courteous and professional member of staff and he got our holiday off to a great start. The hotel itself is clean and well kept. Plenty of sunbeds around the pool and some scattered around the garden. Pool staff were very attentive, always quickly on hand to supply copious towels and move sunshades when required. We stayed in a room overlooking Palma and the view at night was stunning. I think a hire car would be a good idea although not entirely essential. Cars to Palma and the airport were easily arranged by hotel reception. My only negative thought about the hotel relates to the menu in the restaurant in the evening. (Same menu each night). It would have been nice to add a few "specials" each evening. However, overall we enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back again.…
Disrespectful staff, terrible service. Do not go here. 1 out of 5 is generous. Sergei and Pep, made the first day of our honeymoon miserable. Constantly getting orders wrong. Blaming customers and hanging up the phone. Adding charges to bills that they then removed but did not explain why. Refused to explain why staff hung up the phone when called and lied on numerous occasions when asked who did this and why. Real shame, beautiful hotel. Inept staff.
