An easy 10 minute walk from the nearest Metro station and 5 to 10 minutes walk to good quality bars and restaurants in the local area. Quick check in/ check out. Good size room. Great choice at the Breakfast Buffet although at certain times you had to wait for a table due to the number of guests. They have a notice explaining when you should expect the Breakfast service to be busiest - their timings are clearly out of sync as during our stay the opposite times seemed to be the busiets! Since Covid we always request our rooms are only serviced every other day. Despite informing the reception team and hanging a Do Not Disturb sign on the door our room was still serviced. For visiting the sights of Barcelona and staying in a quieter part of the City we would definitley recommend this hotel.…

A late checkin can be scary. Sketchy neighborhood at night and hotel is locked up with no way to communicate with check in desk one floor up. Luckily another guest was entering and let us in. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Small spartan common area. Breakfast has no eggs and mostly breads and cereal and some cold cuts. Room is tiny. Shower is great. OK for a short stay.

We regret that you had to wait in the street for another client to enter the hotel. Normally at midnight we close the door but on the right side there is a postal box and next to this there is a bell that you can use to communicate with reception. We are very happy that you felt well cared for by our staff and we are going to share it with all of them to continue working in this line. Clean, comfortable hotel in a good central location. Friendly and helpful staff and a good continental breakfast selection. Rooms were clean and had everything that was needed. Walking distance to the beach area and around 30 mins to the airport

This hotel worked well for us (a family). Good price, good location. Breakfast included. The room was adequate as was the breakfast. Short walk to the Llacuna metro stop as well as shops and such. Not the Las Ramblas action but that wasn't what we wanted with a young child. Laundromat (La Wash) about a block away. Rooms have blackout shades if you want to sleep in. If you want luxury, this is not it but it was just what we needed.

Check in is NOT on the ground floor but the first floor ( or second floor if in the US). Take elevators or stairs. Nice lobby at ground floor and another lobby at first floor. Breakfast= they DO check if you are a guest of the hotel extensive breakfast! One of the best free breakfasts I have seen among budget hotels. Coffee dispenser with many coffee choices and chocolate. Note that it dispenses small amounts. Even their " coffee, large " I had to do it 3x to get a full cup They have muesli and many types of cereals, pastries, cold cuts, cheeses, bread, juice dispenser, hot beans, hard boiled eggs, a salad station and scrambled eggs slices in the shape of pie. What I did not see were meat choices like sausage or bacon. Front desk. Check in was very very fast. Staff were uber nice. We arrived like 940 and they gave us a room! All I wanted was for them to hold our baggages. They do have baggage storage if you arrive early or when you check out. We availed of both instances. Wifi was complimentary. You can either scan a QR code with your phone or get a small slip of paper with the wifi code in it. I opted for the latter so that I can also log in with my netbook. Speed was very good. 0830 a.m. Ping was 6 milliseconds. Download speed was 9.47 mbps and upload was 9.63. Synchronous spedd. My wife watched her Korean netflix videos without stutter. 9/9.6 at 7 pm. 9 p.m. was essentially the same. Room- Small, simplistic but clean. No fridge or microwave. NO ice bucket. Ice machine in the lobby was not working. But you can ask for ice at the front desk. They give it to you in a small bowl. Coffee maker in room. The hot water kettle was labeled " Kettle only for water. If misuse, charges applies " Guess some guest make noodles in them??? Flat screen TV but we did not really used it. The room could use a few more hooks to hang our jackets. There was absolutely none. We were hanging our jackets onthe door handles. Small closet with forward facing hangers. Windows can be opened. At 5th floor, the road noise was clear. I opened the windows at 1 a.m. and decided to close them. Closed, the room was very quiet. Bathroom was very clean. Good hot water and pressure. Only two sets of towels. No soap bars. Instead they have soap dispensers shampoo and body wash dispensers. Around the area. Nearby is a small place ( El Fornet) selling some foods. Mostly pastries. 1 block further is a Mercadona supermarket that sells quite a few stuff including some hot foods. Well, actually cold prepared foods that you can heat up in the microwave found inside the store. You can get some supplies here like water. Problem with this place is a dearth of nearby places (within a few blocks) to eat (aside from pastries). We spent some time looking for one and ended in the supermarket getting cold stuff which we microwaved. Suggest that if you are in the city proper to eat there, or if too early, to buy food there and bring it back to the hotel. Nearby L4 (orange line) metro Llacuna about 350 meters- 5 minutes walk. I did not explore this neighborhood any further. Area was safe but quite quiet Another plus- right in front of the hotel is a taxi stand. So you are never at a loss of getting a ride. We used the taxi stand to go to the Barcelona Cathedral on the first day and on the last day to the cruise port.…

Everything was super. Breakfast was great choice. The staff was polite and helpful. Ideal peaceful place! Rooms are really clean and beds are so comfortable. It’s the best hotel so far I have stayed in Barcelona!

The staff was very helpful and common areas were very clean, but their rooms are not so clean. I travelled with a few other people, so I will just summarise all our complaints across the multiple rooms that we booked: dust bunnies on the floor everywhere around each corner and under the beds, yellow-stained towels, funky smell in the room, half-opened sugar packets leftover from the previous guest, hot-water boiler was also left unclean from the previous guest, and very hard pillows. I entered with white socks and walked around the room; by the time I left the room after 20 minutes, my socks were completely black. A few of us ended up getting on our hands and knees and used our wet-wipes to mop the floors. Thankfully the bathroom was clean. Besides the issue of cleanliness, the rooms were basically good and comfortable. Wifi was fast. Front desk staff was very accommodating and specially opened up the breakfast buffet at 6am to let us eat breakfast before our early flight. Thank you! …

My wife and I stayed at the HIE City 22 hotel for 1 night in mid-October 2022. The hotel is located outside the historic downtown but close to the Barcelona beach. It took us about 45 minutes by taxi from the airport to get to it. Our room was reasonably comfortable but basic. I wouldn't recommend long-term stay. Bathroom was a bit awkward - half-glass door attached to the bathtub - makes taking a shower more challenging. Breakfast was included. Service was friendly. Lots of restaurants in the vicinity and a nice long boulevard all the way to the beach a block away from the hotel - perfect for an evening stroll after dinner.

The staff were super helpful. Check in was a breeze. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The breakfast is good. The staff give good advice too about visiting nearby places. Is very close to Rambla and is walking distance from the beach. Will be back.

stayed as a family 2 adults and 2 kids (5 and 3 yo) at this hotel. It is comfortable to stay in family room for couple days just to sleep, but it could be cheaper than apartments. Nice breakfast with many dishes
