The hostal is situated at the second floor of an historical building which now is under restoration. It means that the balcony of each room is not accessible and the windows, or at least the curtains, must be closed to have a bit of privacy, since there are workers on the scaffolding during the day, from 7 in the morning...

We were there for a weekend and generally liked the place but there were a few issues. First, the building currently has scaffolding on it (January 2017) so it is covered up and hard to identify. We had trouble finding the name or number and had to ask several people. The place is one floor of a building. The other...

An absolutely lovely place to stay for exploring Barcelona. Close to all the major attractions, staff are extremely helpful and friendly and excellent facilities for the price. The hostal is close to the centre and three metro stations making it a great place to explore all parts of the city. The hostal doesn't offer breakfast however, there are three supermarkets...

The cons: - The hot/warm water in the bathroom was short - after ca. 5 min in the shower it already got cool - the beds were a bit shorter than normal (though very comfortable) - the room was small, additional drawer/desk/table/small wardrobe to put things in/on would have been really useful, not a big issue though. The pros: -...

3 nights here in a family of 4 - very lucky to have a very nice room with a balcony. It was close enough to walk to Sagrada Familia, La Rambla, the Gothic Quarter and much more. A kettle with tea and coffee was available in a communal sitting room and there was a fridge that we kept a few...

We enjoyed staying here. The staff was friendly and helpful with lots of tips on how to get places. The location is great within easy walk to metro. We had a room facing the street but street noise was never a problem. The room was very clean and nice quaint features. Would stay here again

Basic hostel Quaint features Quaint rooms Clean - friendly staff Would be a problem if lift did not work Upmarket for students Quirky change for those used to more Affordable for those who want a longer stay as opposed to a shorter - more luxurious stay. Reasonable central Not far from familias and not far from old town

Service below average and unhelpful, staff are not very good at speaking conversational English (despite everything written around the hotel being in English). Entrance hard to access and located inside a hostel of considerably lesser quality than the actual hotel (sticky bannisters and musky smell included). Parking almost non-existent and particularly troublesome if you have mobility problems (a short walk...

This small hotel is well located just a few stops out of the centre of Barcelona on the Metro. The rooms are clean, neat and well priced. We had a little balcony overlooking the main road. I was concerned by the amount of traffic passing but once the doors and windows were closed there was no noise. There were two...

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
