Nestled atop Sants station, Barceló Sants offers a unique space-themed atmosphere that has garnered a mix of reactions, being both quirky and modern to some yet dated to others. Guests often laud the modern, comfortable rooms with striking views, though there are murmurs about soundproofing issues and maintenance quirks.
Cleanliness and professional service are among its strengths, frequently earning the hotel high marks. However, some visitors mention slow check-ins and question the value, pointing to steep room rates and extra charges that can dampen the overall experience.

Detailed Reviews
This hotel is located directly above Sant’s Railway station, but don’t worry the hotel is well insulated from any noise and people using the train station.
The hotel has a Space Theme (As in the final frontier) which makes for some fun and quirky signage around the hotel common areas and to small extent inside the actual rooms.
These rooms are well sized and very quiet and comfortable.
The bathroom configuration is unusual with the basin and mirror being part of the room while the toilet and bath are separate. I say this because it is different, everything worked as you would expect.
The rooms were very clean and have a block out blind which made sleeping in so much much nicer.
The breakfast options were extensive and fresh, the ground floor bar area was friendly, open and relaxed.
The only drawback is the location is not close to the ‘tourist’ areas, however Barcelona is mostly flat, and grid based so waking is not difficult, and the Christopher Columbus memorial is only 10 euro away by cable if walking is not your thing

This hotel is literally on top of Barcelona Sants train station so it was the perfect place to spend the night before our train ride to Madrid. We are 3 people that shared a triple room. We were pleased to see that the 3rd bed was not a sofa bed or a rollaway, but a legitimate bed with the same amenities as the other twin beds in the room.
The hotel is generous with toiletries, and the overhead rain shower was absolutely divine! There is also a clean, modern gym available for use that we enjoyed.
The only thing we would change is that there is not enough visual privacy between the shower stall and the rest of the hotel room. Inside the stall, there is no way to hang a towel or robe, so you must exit to dry yourself off. However once you exit the shower, you will be partly visible to other people in the room. Not the best situation if you are traveling with friends or with multiple family members. Otherwise, we had a fantastic experience staying at this modern, clean and convenient hotel.

Response from Hotel- cmanager, Propriétaire at Barceló Sants
Responded 22 Jul 2021
Dear Guest, Thank you for reviewing your recent experience. We are glad to know that you really enjoyed our unbeatable location over Barcelona Sants train station to visit the must-see sights in Barcelona. We are also very pleased to know that you appreciated your room and that you found it to be comfortable, however, we regret that the bathroom design was not to your living. We do have other options available and we would be happy to assist you in finding a room type that perfectly fits your requirements on your next stay. We are thrilled that you felt welcomed and supported from the moment you arrived until the moment you departed and will not hesitate to share your compliments with the entire reception team as we know it will encourage us to keep on going the extra mile. We are very pleased to know that you liked the room we accommodated you in and that you found it to be clean and comfortable at all times. We look forward to seeing you again on your next visit. Best wishes, Dirección / Hotel Management

Spent a night here passing through BCN and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The location above Sants Train Station is great, especially for anyone planning to catch a train or plane, for that matter. Staff are polite and helpful.
The decoration is fun, with a funky 70's kind of space theme (with a really cool lobby area) while amenities in the room are modern and should make for a good stay - for both private and business travellers. The whole setup really worked for me, and I'll be back.

We stayed at Sants for one night as we could easily get to the airport by train the following day.
It turned out that there is NO DIRECT metro or train route to terminal one ( international ), so a taxi it was. ( at E35)
The hotel position above the station, and its numerous cafes and restaurant, is advantageous and an option for the E20 breakfast. I recommend going downstairs and breakfasting at a station cafe.
Many local restaurants are within walking distance for dinner and lunch.
Hotel rooms are small, with a very basic bathroom, similar to a small ship cabin in many ways.
The space theme throughout the hotel is interesting, but dosent make it a comfortable hotel. As it caters for large conferences the downstairs foyer area can be very busy and somewhat noisy.
An average hotel, with a good position for transport, sightseeing, and dining, etc.

Response from Direccion_B_Sants, Manager at Barceló Sants
Responded 4 Mar 2020
Dear Colin, First of all, let us thank you for having chosen Barceló Sants Hotel and for your time to give us your feedback. There are two ways to get to the airport from the hotel. The direct train takes you to the Terminal 2 (which is also international, it all depends on the airline you are flying with) and then there is a free shuttle bus from the T2 to T1. Another option is taking the metro. You will need to change the metro line once, but it takes you to T1 and T2. Both options take about 40-45 minutes all together. The train to T2 takes only 20 minutes. As it states on our website, all our rooms are 24m2, except our Orbital Suites, that are 49m2. Being such a busy city Barcelona, the size of our rooms are above standard. We regret you did not enjoy our space themed design and even though we receive many positive comments, we understand that it is to everyone´s liking. We appreciate your positive feedback regarding the comfortable location, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back. Kind regards, The management.

Perfect location with a huge car park right in front of the building but getting there you must know your way around to get to the ramp up to the parking which takes you right up to the front reception. The room is modern, bright, with everything you need plus a safe to keep your valuables. The bathroom is nice with rain forest shower, and it bright with nature sunlight as the divider from the bathroom to the room is glass but very cleverly designed.
Comfortable bed with clean white linens. One thing I didn’t like is the way to get down to street through a sort of tunnel like and to get back up if you’re not driving up.
The service was ok, I love the space theme of the lobby where you can sit and work comfortably but can be super noisy.

I loved this hotel.. the right mix between anonymous and great service. The rooms are modern crisp and clean, the views from the East lovely if you “get” the earthy tones of spanish 1970s comattuction, flecks of black and white against the peaks of the mountains beyond, Sunset was lovely. The parade of parked black and yellow taxis tells you all you need to know about this modern forward looking city
The off beat spatial theme works, neither under or over stated, as expected from a Catalan design team.
The entrance is underwhelming.. but that helps give a feeling of detatchment from the hustle and bustle of both Sants and Barcelona
the proximity to El Parque Insustrial reassures you you aren’t in a soulless neighbourhood..
Its a great hitek

This hotel is located just at the main train station so it is pretty convenient when going out. I quite like the design of this hotel, a little but unusual and provides a kind of interesting vibe. The room is neat and comfortable, and I like that they can make connecting room which is good for family travel. Overall I am very satisfied with my stay here.
There may not be many shops around the area, but if you walk out a bit (across the road to the opposite side) then you can find lots of local restaurants. It looks like an authentic local neighbourhood which is very nice too.

This hotel is the best one we have stayed across Europe, and also by the far the best value for money. Massive comfortable beds, great choice of pillows, very quiet, quirky theme and brilliant location if you are using Barcelona Sants station. Highly recommended

As a family of 4 we were looking for a hotel with transportation near by. The hotel was really convenient as was on top of the train station and metro with parks and plenty of restaurants nearby.
We had 2 connecting rooms which we were really happy to have and all of us slept brilliantly, the beds were extremely comfortable which was needed after a long day of travelling. We stayed for 3 nights and this has been our favourite hotel to stay in Barcelona so far.
We will definitely be back in the future, thank you for a memorable first stay abroad since Covid :)

It is a taxi ride away. And a bit of traffic when I took a taxi to the port. May be 5 miles!
Sorry, I can't help. We just had a standard double room. However, I think you should also check out the bathroom situation! The room we had had a very immodest bathroom which I felt inhibited about using even while my partner was around - very little privacy! On the other hand, the hotel is absolutely wonderful in the public rooms.
