Great place to stay when visiting Barcelona so don't let the distance from city centre put you off. Stayed for 4 nights between Xmas and new year and had a great time also very pleased with apartment Tram stop 6or7 min walk from hotel opposite supermarket.T3 to Maria Christina then connect to underground which goes straight to Dressangle which is at bottom of La Rambla. About 20mins on tram then 15 on underground.T10 travel card at €10.50 is brilliant as covers 10 trips. Nou Camp is only 16/17 mins on tram. Would definitely stay here again if Touring Barcelona in the future 👍

Spent 4 nights in the apartment -style room for 3 persons in the end of March 2022. Not a luxury class, but in my opinion the price/quality ratio is really good. Nothing substantial was missing in the kitchenette. Just a wine bottle opener we needed more and after asking it from the reception this was provided at once. Very much appreciated! If something not too perfect to mention, then the couchette for the third person was not comfortable to sleep on. And there could be more electrical socket outlets in the rooms. The distance to the Barcelona city centre can be easily reached with public transport and does not take too long. If arriving with the rental or your own car, seems to me that parking around the hotel is chargeable only. Overall can give my sincere recommendation for this hotel.

For the price, you can't knock this hotel. It does what it says on the tin. Rooms are spacious, have air con and while everything is dated, it's clean and in working order. We came out of hours (after 8pm) for a three-night stay, so make sure you have the code to get in the building before you travel. A friendly nightwatchman then helps check you in - but doesn't speak a word of English! Pool is clean but only open from noon to seven when most people are not there!
If you are planning to go into the centre of barcelona, do not book taxis online - they are a rip-off - quoting 75 euros for a 20 min journey. Call the local taxis from Sant Joan Despi and on the meter it's around 35 euros. Same when you're in Barca centre, pull over a cab and again it's around 35-40 euros.
Alternatively you can get a tram then metro - we did this once but a bit of a pain.
The hotel is situated on the middle of residential/office area, so very little in terms of evening hospitality. Around the corner in a precinct are a couple of small supermarkets, a bar and a couple of restaurants - one is Loucombella which is excellent. Many options on menu and well priced.
If you're coming in the summer, ignore the most recent reviews here. We are quite picky but found this hotel okay for a short stay.

Pool closed and no hot water due to maintaence issues.No prior warning pool wasn't available during booking or check in. No information available pool is closed. Hotel is filthy. Rooms smell of smoke and most furniture is broken. Kitchen is missing bowls and cutlery for the amount of guests booked

quiet safe neighbourhood easy connection to catalunya square and airport .Trams and metro frequent and cheap. About 30 mins to gothic quarter 45 mins to airport . clean accomodation basic kitchen nice pool staff very pleasant and helpful . Good value for money.One complaint however the safe in our room malfunctioned and would not open with passports and money inside .It took from saturday afternoon to sunday evening to open it luckily our flight was wednesda y otherwise we would have been stuck. The staff made continuous calls both to the emergency technician and to the general manager with no reply ,they were as cross as we were. Very suprising for an international brand in a city like Barcelona. This has spoiled an overall decent time.Would perhaps stay again but certainly would not use the safe .This has unfortunately reduced the overall score

Noise!!!! I can hear my neighbors conversation as if we were in the same room. The noise from the corridor reminds me of kids dormitories. Doors are banging all the time. The sound echoes. People talking in the corridor, don't care about making noise. Amazing. Not worth the price at all. And I'm not the kind of being cold, but the temperature in the room is cold.

Clean and spacious room, had everything we needed. Drawback is the 24 hour reception which is only manned 12-8! Then it’s a check in machine that didn’t work and I had to call the emergency number for help. A man then appeared from a door behind reception and he managed to get the machine to check us in. Restaurant never open and didn’t see another member of staff the whole 4 days we were there!! If you are looking for a base to sleep in and that’s it, this is fine.

Dirty, smelly and moldy. Just stay away. This hotel is so disgusting. My room is so dirty and the roof is black mild. The pictures speak for themself. However, the receptionist (a man) was Nice. The reception area is old and worn out. Pls see the attached photos.

The apartment was basically okay but outdated, a bit unclean and was lacking quite a lot of amenities, especially in the kitchen. Also, the sound insulation was poor. The bathroom was okay as well as the beds.

The hotel is terrible. Dirty room, corridors, elevators… the check in process is done thru a machine, clumsy and difficult to manage. The street door is terribly hard to open, and the whole place is just terrible.

Hi, two blocks away you can find 1 big grocery store, and another one specialized in refrigerated dishes. So you wont have any problem.
In front of the supermarket there is a tram, that goes directly to the major attractions and to downtown. It will take 20~30 min, but the cost difference from staying in Sant Joan X Barcelona worths.
There are more places to choose from in the Barcelona area.
