Stayed for 2 nights here in November and we had a great time. The receptionist was quite rude as he ignored us initially and continued his conversation with his colleague, then whilst serving us he served another Spanish guest whilst checking us in. Despite this initial encounter the rooms were clean and fine, a little dated but ok for a...

Very poor quality for a four star hotel. Noisey room above a noisy casino which had many people outside until the early hours of the morning. The tv did not work at all, the batteries in the keypad were all bashed up and damaged. Nothing was done to sort it despite me leaving a note on the table the first...

This is an okay hotel which is no way a 4 star hotel which leads me to question how they got this rating. The front desk staff were not very helpful and when we checked in, the guy was talking to us as if reading off a script, no personal touch at all. There were some porters/ staff standing near...

We have just spent three nights in this hotel which I would certainly recommend to your readers as in an ideal location for accessing the La,Rambla (a nice tourist street leading to the port in one direction and the square at Cataluna in the other. The tube station is literally just 50 metres form the hotel entrance which was extremely...

Location- Sitting above the Paral-lel metro station which means convenience and east access to the Aerobus station to the Airport. Approx. 7min stroll to the Las Ramblas shopping area. Hotel surroundings have several dining options & most open only after 10am, including a subway outlet a block away. The only downside was the disco below the hotel that is noisy...

We spent 2 nights at the Tryp Barcelona Apolo. The people at the reception were very friendly and helpful, the room was big, comfortable and already available at 11 am. The hotel is in walking distance to the sea, to Las Ramblas, and to the metro with 2 lines. Breakfast was good with lots of choices. Minor disadvantage: it was...

This hotel was perfectly situated for a first time visitor to Barcelona. It was easy to access all areas of the city. Hotel, clean, room very good. Breakfast was extremely good value. The cafe attached to he hotel had a good menu and gave good value for money.

The hotel is 50m away from metro and bus stops from where you can explore easily the whole city. Rambla and Gothic quarter are in walking distance. I like this hotel as they offer good services at reasonable prices. Large rooms, totally clean. They even included Wi-Fi connections which was not the case in the past. Vast selection of the...

Had an extra night in Barcelona due to technical aircraft problems. Veurling booked me to Tryp Airport Hotel with free lunch and dinner. The lunch was awful. Totally abused salmon. Actually the worst I've had for years. And the dinner was the second worst meal: pork with potato and sauce. The room was okay and the noise from highway as...

Staying in Montjuic

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colourful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
