As per our plans for a long trip accross Spain we allowed only 1 and a half day for Barcelona. Also we had a flight arriving at Barcelona at around 10-30 PM. That's why we needed a hotel with an easy access from the airport and located not far from metro stations. Onix Fira was the best choice: it's located... More

Very good position, close to Plaza de Espana and to the metro. Good rooms and service, passable breakfast. Small pool but nice to have it when coming back late. wi-fi weak in the room, but 2 computers available in public room. Only concern is the parking place, garage not good, too narrow passageway even for medium sized car, also too... More

My university paid for the 4 night staying - so I wont comment on the pricing. I just loved the location. Very close from the Barcelona Sant train station. And Plaça Espanya Metro is 3 minute walkin distance. There is a huge mall nearby - Arenas de Barcelona (it helped me to get done with shopping at the last moment).... More

This good hotel is very reasonably priced for Barcelona, and is very close to Plaça d'Espanya. This grand square is absolutely my favorite in this city, and so much more impressive than other overrated squares. Yes, there has been lots of construction work going on around here lately, you can hardly blame the hotel for that, and I cannot believe... More

The reception staff speaks English which is not a standard in Spain. Room 416 (a triple) was big, with a park view and a balcony. At all cost avoid breakfast in this hotel. It costs almost 8 Euro per person and is really terrible. For that kind of money (or less) you can eat good breakfast in bars nearby (Tapa... More

Price was right when I booked it under offers, but concidering that room suppossed to be for family with a child, it haven't meet the expectations. You don't want to have your child in the room where walls are all dirty from fingerprints and other marks. Hallways are really noisy( meaning no isolation) and you hear next room's shower running.... Breakfast was good , from 7 to 10 am, had all the food you needed to start a day, might have lacked a bit in variety but still pretty good. Rooms were all very clean and comfortable , although I think that the ones with the street view are better than the ones that look to the back of the... More

We stayed here for five nights. The hotel was clean and the room looked like an average 3 star hotel room. We opted not to have breakfast- it cost 15 euros. We ate breakfast- coffee and croissant- at cafe across the road. It cost 6 euros for two people. The hotel is in a good location, near to the metro... More

I had read that the hotel was near a construction site, and sadly enough, it's true. But I was happy when I found out that my room was not facing teh construction site, because I really wanted to sleep in on saturday morning. Unfortunately, the cleaning ladies had a different idea. At 8 am, they started moving furniture around, making... More

I found a good deal via Travel Zoo that I booked on the Onix Fira hotel website which said we'd have our choice of either a queen or a king (we opted for king when I booked on the Onix Fira website) and a 'relaxation kit' with 'bath salts and more'. All sounded very lovely and we were looking forward... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
