We visited the Hotel Gaudi and enjoyed an excellent short break in Barcelona... The hotel is in the heart of Barcelona just off the famous Las Ramblas... it is directly opposite one of Gaudi's famous buildings - the Palau Guell... our room had a great view from our balcony across to the famous roof top of this Gaudi building with it's...

The hotel is very welcoming and the staff friendly. The location, halfway down La Rambla, is perfect if you want to try the varied bars, cafes and restaurants for they are all within a short stroll. It is also within 5 minutes walk of the bus stop for the bus tour and about 10 minutes walk from the metro station....

We booked this for an overnight in Barcelona for the price, location, and because it accepted pets. The room was small but had a cool view of one of the Gaudi palaces across the street. The location was very central--good for a tourist but a bit noisy for us. Little ambience or charm to the hotel itself. Parking was arranged...

Mainly booked this hotel for the location, across the street from Palau Guell (worth a visit, book early), down the street from the from the Rambla and a plaza with great food. Just know we had a problem finding an ATM with cash in it (last days of our vacation). The staff was very helpful; always willing to suggest places...

Second time in Barcelona and this trip I decided I needed to be in the heart of the action, so I chose Hotel Gaudi. It was a perfect choice, close to everything and bliss to just be able to walk to a variety of places for dinner and site seeing. Added treat was the roof top bar overlooking Paulu Guell...

Having stayed just up the road, my wife decided for our second trip, my birthday present we'd stay here. We got a great room, albeit small, with a lovely big balcony overlooking the roof of the Gaudi museum which is wonderful. The room needed tea/coffee facilities, a fridge and maybe some drawers. Although there was plenty of space in the...

We arrived on Friday afternoon, booked in and went to the room, unfortunately someone else was already in there!! Not a great start, poor planning. The second room was much better, on the top floor with a large balcony looking onto the roof of Palau Guell and it's amazing Gaudi chimneys. 2 lifts made it easy to the 8th floor...

Hotel Gaudi is at a great location, right off La Ramblas with all good restaurants, shopping places and touristy places within walking distance. The hotel is neat and clean with very helpful staff. Food could be better. But there are a lot of good restaurants around. Terrace views are amazing. But don't expect any sort of views from your room....

We had a comfortable stay here for 2 nights before our cruise. It was walking distance to the marina (but not the cruise ship--definitely need a taxi for that!) Las Ramblas, our cooking class and tour of the market. We walked to La Sagrada Familia too-- it was about a 45 minute walk. We enjoyed the rooftop bar, but were...

This was our second time at Hotel Gaudi, and it was even better than last year. I thought it was a lovely touch by the hotel to give out Cava and chocolates on Valentine's night, much appreciated. Looking forward to returning next year.

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
