Very small rooms. But Nice and clean. Friendly personal and a good location. It's good to get around. Fine walking distance to almost everything. A little dodgy area, but i didnt feel unsafe. Recommended from a friend

Rooms are small. Speaking for a solo traveller the bed took up 3/4 of the room but was good to have a nice bed. Bathroom was also small but sufficient, wifi reached room and provided great signal. Only downside is walls are really thin so was woken by other patrons arriving and leaving in the early hours but location wise...

I stayed in La Terrassa for four nights. Location is good and the staff is friendly. Room was very very small but it was cleaned every day and had a privat bathroom. I even had a small balcony. I really couldn't expect anything better for 70€/night.

La Terrassa offers exactly what you can expect. Good quality beds a shower and a balcony. It is however quite noisy outside as well as inside. You can hear the drains and waterpipes very well. The staff is friendly though

The location was absolutely fantastic, just off la rambla (enough to be really close, but far enough away to be quiet!) Staff were incredibly helpful and spoke so many languages including French, Spanish and English. The room and bathroom were both really clean - we had a room with a little balcony, was nice to look out in the mornings....

It is located in the old area and therefore the streets are a bit dirty and smelly (the whole area is) with lots of graffiti (like all of Barcelona and what we have seen of Spain), with all sorts of characters getting home just as we were going out to breakfast. Still we felt safe enough and were aware of...

Central, friendly, clean, quiet, compact. It was a good price and all we needed. Close to market, the port, La Rambla and old gothic area. Very close to metro. The street is quiet, not much traffic. The nearby market is wonderful.

Stayed here last week and the location is perfect. The Hostal is very basic, but it is a budget hostal and we thought it was good value! The room was spotlessly clean, the shower / toilet area was clean and the shower worked very well with plenty of hot water. The room was cleaned daily and towels were changed whenever...

Good value for money. Nice room although not big and no tv. You have to leave key on reception and breakfast is extraordinary. It has nice shower with toiletries and location is good as is near las ramblas 2mins walk.

Hostal is at a good location, it was very affordable. Rooms are a bit small but very clean. Also the people that work there are incredibly nice. You also have a heating in a room and a small bathroom. If you are just looking for a place to sleep and not spent much time in it is a great deal!

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The hostal la Terrassa is located in portion of old town Barcelona where the first settlement of the Raval neighborhood was established. It was built around the Romanic church of Sant Pau del Camp after the fall of the Roman Empire.Less than 5 minutes walking distance, La Terrassa hostal is very near “La Rambla”. This popular promenade was finally completed at the end of the XVIII century and is where in we can find the colorful market known as “la Boqueria” or “Sant Josep” founded in 1836. In the 1800s the upper class of Barcelona gain interest in the Raval area and began to populate the neighborhood’s most important streets. La Terrassa is located in Junta de Comerç street once it first opened it became at the time not only the widest and grandest street, but also the “Champs-Élysées” of Barcelona. The most significant example of an important personality moving to the neighborhood was Count Güell, who commissioned Antoní Guadí to build him a palace in 1885.Nowadays Old Town is an up and coming neighborhood regaining the grandeur of its glory days. It’s the second neighborhood with most character in Barcelona after the Gothic Quarter forming Old Town. Located right in the heart of the city, la Terrassa offers a place to rest “where the action is”. ... more   less
