The beds were pretty comfortable and clean but the hostel is strange. They have a massive downstairs eating area but a tiny, often dirty kitchen. The windows in the dorm can't be opened (purposely) and made the room feel stuffy and germs festered as one of the guests was sick. The hostel has a sports theme and feels like it... More

Been here for 5 nights. Great hostel, it has perfect position, the rooms are big enough, separate toilets, and what I like the best is big lounge. The kitchen is little smaller but all in all its perfect. The apollo night club is just behind the corner, ramblas 10,15 minutes walk. Would come back here definitely

When we stayed here, it was an odd experience. Having stayed in hostels in Berlin, Norway and Poland we hadn't experienced this kind of treatment until then. When we arrived we met the lady who told us where our room was and which lockers we could use. The room was for 4 but there was 5 people on the balcony... More

Barcelona Youth Hostel has been the worst hostel I have stayed in over my European backpacking trip. We booked a 6 bedroom dorm (which we paid extra for) and were put in an 8 bed dorm, which they managed to squeeze 12 people into! We were woken up during the night (4am) by a staff member who made me change... More

A friend and I stayed here for what was originally going to be 3 days, but turned into a week. The staff was cool and down to earth and the vibe was more like flatmates, rather than strangers. It was a bit smaller than the commercial hostels, and better because of it. Also, it was one of the lower priced... More

The location is fantastic and very central. The staff were friendly and didnt mind that we checked out half an hour late. The only problem was that the beds didn´t really feel that clean, it wasn´t dirty just wasn´t as clean as they could of been. Apart from that everything was good

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
