Positives: We were given a city map and Ana was very kind enough to actually suggest us nice restaurants and places to see. The balcony is really beautiful and relaxing. There is a kitchen too where you can bring your own food and cook if you don't want to eat out. Negatives: We had a balcony room where we could...

Very nice spot, surrounded by very nice restaurants and nice bars. Just a block away from downtown. Also there are lots of spots where you could have breakfast or coffee around. I can't exactly remember but the closest metro drops you directly at Barceloneta station where you could walk to the beach, and the bus just below the hotel takes...

Stayed here recently for 2 nights while away with a few friends. The rooms were all very nicely decorated with different artwork and murals on all the walls. The terrace is a great place to chill out with a drink and chat to friends and/or other guests. The kitchen area is very helpful for those staying for more than 1...

We loved staying 3 nights at this guesthouse! Great design to the rooms, kitchen, common area and especially the terrace. The artwork is great. I'm used to ikea everything in guesthouses and hostels. This was a pleasant change. It's in a fantastic neighborhood. Loads of great restaurants and bars. Ana was super helpful. The owner was really nice to chat...

Second time to stay in zoo rooms. Good area, lots of bars and restaurants. Couple of blocks from passaig de garcia. Rooms are great, not luxurious but perfectly fine. Added bonus of kitchen area if you want to keep and prepare food. Lovely big terrace as well. Very cheap nightly rate. Wouldn't stay anywhere else now, hopefully be back again☺

Zoo rooms has some really cool interior decor. The location is perfect to see all the sites of Barcelona. The staff were incredibly helpful and went through all the best places to visit and eat. I would definitely stay there again!

Great value staying here. Really liked the location in the Eixample neighborhood, a 15 min walk or metro ride to every place you could want to go in Barcelona. Rooms were clean, we used the kitchen multiple times to save money and that worked well. And relaxing at night in those hammocks were great ways to end a day.

Trawling through all the hotels on offer in Barcelona was a bit of a nightmare; finding something at a decent price but at the same time wasn't a faceless, multi-national hotel chain. Zoorooms ticked all the boxes for us. While the rooms are on the smaller side (more than enough room for two people though), they are clean, well designed,...

We stayed for 3 nights at this great hostel. The area was lovely felt safe and had restaurants and supermarkets nearby. We were really well situated for getting around by public transport and the bus touristic. The hostel itself is on the first floor of a lovely building. The rooms are quirky with unique art. It was spotlessly clean and...

Zoo Rooms came highly recommended to us from a friend and he could not have been more right. On arrival, we were greeted by a super friendly hostess, who showed us to our room and gave us a tour of the guesthouse and terrasse. She then sat us down with a map and showed us all the best places to...

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
ZOO ROOMS offers stylish and budget "chic & cheerful" accommodation to a new generation of culturally sophisticated visitors to Barcelona who want a certain level of independence mixed with top-quality service, style and comfort at an affordable price.Hotel? Hostel? - Oh?tel! Our rooms meet guidelines for hotel standards, but our prices are closer to a hostel. we are a unique boutique guesthouse, combining the quality you'd find in a fancy hotel with the personal services offered in a hostel - you can cook your own meal, mingle with other guests, chill out in the living room, drink on the terrace, and all at an affordable price. The location of our little city oasis, in the heart of the Eixample area, was carefully chosen so our guests would get a better city experience and level of comfort and relax that you just won't find staying in the old town. We are situated in a prestigious area of the city, next to the city's most hip restaurants, bars and just walking distance to the city's finest sights: There are bars and clubs just around the corner if you want to go out dancing, the best of the city's restaurants - with prices to suit all budgets - are all within easy walking distance. Gaudí's masterpieces La Pedrera and Casa Battló are also just a few blocks away. The area is safe at night to walk around in - you will not be harrassed by beer-sellers, thieves and drunkards like in the old town.Did we mention the TERRAZA? Our privileged guests will soon discover our large sunny terrace with hammocks and tables and lounge chairs where guests can really chill out and take a break from the hum-drum of the big city. We organise weekly BBQ's in the evenings during the summer months serving a wonderful array of the best Argentinean and Galician meats, fresh fish and grilled vegetarian options. ... more   less
