A small hostel in El Raval, has a lot of bars and restaurants around, close to Rambla and subway. If you book a double room, they put you in a building next door. Bathroom was shared, sound isolation ok.

Got one of the apartments to share with my two cousins. Was very central on a nice little street close to la Rambla and very close to Gothic part of the city. Nice small apartment with a comfortable bed for two but the bed sofa was not very comfortable. The bathroom with toilet and sink was very good and fresh....

I stayed in the hostel for 3 nights. We arrived the hostel at 6 am. Staff is very kind and friendly. He allows us to leave luggage and use their facilities even we had not check in yet. Then, he also provided the map and suggested where to go in the early morning. We went to see the sunrise as...

Good location and friendly staffs. Pub crawl staffs visit the hostel every nights to invite us a great party ever!! Easy access to the city and a bit far walk to the beautiful beach. Toilets and bathrooms are okay, but showers are broken. So it is not comfortable shower you are gonna take. Air conditioning are provided every room which...

Literally a hostel for young (20-something) and old (nearing 60). A lot of solo travelers, so it's easy to make contacts, providing that not everyone is staring at their phone. The six bed female dorm was a comfortable size. Facilities are good, though I didn't use the kitchen, so I don't know about that. Staff is friendly and security is...

I've just spent three night at the apartments of Be Mar. Yes, they are a fair way down from the main hostel but closer to La Rambla which in my view was good :) I always felt safe with police everywhere. There are beggars and prostitutes in the lane but you just ignore them. My apartment had clean beds, a...

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
