Hotel is old, or at least looks past it's prime. It is clean but outdated and shows signs of wear and tear. Receptionist was very friendly and efficient. Breakfast was so so, but what can you expect for 81€ per night, B'fast included. WiFi was very good! Bed was OK but pillow was terrible. I would consider this a low budget tourist hotel. Room at the back was quiet, but the view a blank wall.

The staff here was so caring and provided exceptional service. Any hotel staff can smile and wish you good day but the HCC Open staff treated us with care and compassion. My friend had a medical problem the second day of our 7 day visit. Reception arranged for an ambulance and acted as our intermediaries in conveying information from the medics. They continued to monitor my friend's well-being after the emergency passed. During the week, Reception also acted as our concierge staff, helping us make and change reservations, providing us with detailed metro and bus information, and scheduling English language guided museum tours. We found all 3 of the Reception staff to be caring and helpful. By the end of our vacation, I felt we were saying good-by to family! Upon arrival,

We stayed at the Open for three nights on our recent trip. The hotel is between Rocafort and Urgell Metro stations, its a 10 minute walk to Placa Espana and about 15 minutes the other way to Placa Catalunya and 20 minutes to Passage De Gracia. We had a comfortable room on the 4th floor overlooking the front of the hotel. There was some traffic noise but it wasn't much of a problem. Other than the unusual pillows (that we folded in half to make the best of), everything in the room was fine by us. The thing that could be improved was the breakfast buffet. If you get it included then that's fine but I wouldn't pay an extra for it. Neither the fruit juice nor the fruit was fresh, the croissants were tiny, at least the coffee wasn't out of a machine! There are many cafe's around

Very close to Plaza España and Gran Via. The breakfast is nice and the rooms are clean. No bidet but you can use the shower hose if you are a Muslim client. The thing that was annoying to me was that the Diputacion street, where the hotel is, is full of gay bars.

If we had booked this ourselves it would have been about £200 cheaper including flights. With £200 more they had only arranged a complementary champagne as it was our honeymoon. There is a taxi stand outside the hotel, about 25euros from El Prat airport to hotel. Hotel was clean and quiet during our long weekend stay. Near to Rocafort underground and about 10 -15minute walk to the centre where there is a bullring converted to a shopping centre open until 10pm during the week and Saturdays and lots of resturants and bars. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Nothing went missing in our room. We stayed in room 202 which was spacious and clean. I was apprehensive if it was going to be quiet as the room faced on to the main roads, central to the hotel but we had no problems

We have stayed at this hotel 7 nights from September 5 to 12, 2014. Hotel was very clean, nice room, well located in Barcelona as very close to main attractions. The only bad point is the breakfast which is far not reflecting what is showed in hotel official photos for promotions. In fact, it could be improved by replacing the powder orange juice by a better quality, replacing the mini croissant by those on sale in all restaurants and patisseries, adding whole wheat bread for those we desire healthy food, adding more fresh fruits as banana and replace the frozen bread by daily and fresh ones.

Having booked this hotel as my mum had been before and said it was central to Barcelona I have to agree, there is a metro station only a few minutes walk away which links you to the rest of the city with ease. The hotel is based over 7 floors with each floor having 14 rooms, the rooms are well done up the only downside I found was we were at the back so didn't get much natural light coming in meaning the room was a bit dark and made it difficult to do make up in the morning. The breakfast was well suited to cater all needs and tastes, they had cereals, ham, cheese, mini pastries and the option of cooked food if you wanted it. As it was a buffet style it meant you could have as much or little as you like, and go back if you wanted more of anything.

Nice hotel, realy central and easy to reach. Fair distance to the beach by subway. Breakfast was ok. Parking had the same price as everywhere else in Barcelona but the access was quite narrow so, if you are travelling with a rented car, make sure you control distances and brakes before trying to go in. The room was correct without big extras that we did not need. Enough room for clothes and to store luggage. Reception was ok, they had a night guard controlling access at night but it was not a dangerous area at all. In the middle of the gay quartier of Barcelona and within walking distance of all bars in the area. I could repeat the visit if the price is right

I stayed here for 2 nights while visiting Barcelona. It was just fine for me. Check in was speedy. I arrived well before check in time and they already had a room waiting for me. Front desk staff was helpful and spoke English well. Elevators are small so if you have lots of bags or a large group be prepared to take a couple trips! The room was relatively basic. 2 beds which looked uncomfortable but ended up being quite comfy. There was a large flat screen tv which I didn't use. There was a desk and a mini bar. The safe in the closet needed a old fashioned key to use and I didn't bother to enquire about that. There was no in room coffee maker or kettle. The bathroom was simple but got the job done. Shower had good water pressure and plenty of hot water. There is a hair

This hotel was booked by a travel agent, we found it to be far from everything. It is situated in a residential area. Hotel rooms were old but clean. Someone (cleaning person) we would assume kept coming in and out if our room even though we requested a few times that no one enter our room. Our keys stop working everyday, each time we left our room. Lobby area was nice but bar/tv area was not set up for guest to order a drink and watch World Cup. Front desk agent were not all that friendly. On the plus side Breakfast was great.
