Stayed here for a couple nights with my parents, husband and 4 kids prior to embarking on a cruise in Barcelona. I cannot recommend the hotel enough! We had 3 rooms total (my parents had a king balcony and my family had 2 suites. They were very modernly furnished (maybe a bit sparse for my taste but that is just preference) with a king bed and a pull out sofa bed which was pretty comfortable (according to my kids). The suites had a nice espresso machine, small fridge, provided bottled water and a little balcony which comfortably sat 2 or 3. The breakfast was AH-mazing and the service was unbelievable. They all spoke beautiful English and were over the top helpful with every request. The location was 2 blocks away from Paseo de Gracia (best shopping ever- honestly better than Rodeo Dr) and it was easily walkable to lots of places. There is a lovely infinity pool, small rooftop bar area and a nice gym on the top floor. Would absolutely stay here again next time we are in Barcelona.

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel in October and wouldn't hesitate to book here again.

Every member of staff in the hotel was helpful and friendly - from the front desk to the bar staff. The hotel was particularly helpful when we asked for help booking a restaurant in advance of our trip.

The room was a fantastic size with a together we could pull between both sides of the room to give my daughter privacy on her side. The bathroom was a great size - with three sinks and two-door access, so my daughter could enter from her area. We were also delighted that the room had a balcony we could sit on.

The rooms were also kept very clean during the whole of our stay and were well air conditioned. The gluten-free croissants that were left in our room were an extra special touch, after we made the hotel aware our child is coeliac.

The atmosphere in the hotel was great and it was a real enjoy returning every time we got back after a long day of sightseeing. We loved the pool and bar area on the roof, and enjoyed many glasses of cava on the rooftop in the evenings watching the sun set.

It in a fantastic location, near lots of great restaurants, shops and bakeries (Jansanna across the road is a must-visit!). Gaudi's Casa Batllo and La Pedrera are both very close by, while Sagrada Famillia is in easy walking distance.

Thanks to the hotel for making our holiday to Barcelona.

The hotel is in a great location for sightseeing and within east walking distance of the major sights.
The rooms are spacious with clever touches like sensor lights in the bathrooms, good water pressure in the bathroom and plenty of storage to unpack. The shower and toilet were in the room, not in a separate space and had semi see through glass doors. I was traveling alone so not an issue but seeing your partner go to the loo is not the stuff of a romantic mini break.
The pool is okay but very small and packed in the summer. Sun loungers (if you could get one) were ripped and very uncomfortable. Don’t book the hotel for the pool.
Staff were friendly enough if a little fractious at the pool (understaffed).
I did not add breakfast as there are lots of good options near the hotel including a place for takeaway coffee right opposite.
Overall, I had a good stay but I do think the hotel is over priced.

The location of the hotel, in a charming neighborhood, is excellent for exploring all of Barcelona, the comfort of the room, the beds, the level of service of all the staff, all of whom are very correct and very warm and always willing to help with anything required.
The breakfast was correct, even though I don't like coffee from a standard machine, knowing this, every morning they offered me coffee made fresh in an espresso machine the way I like it.
Impeccable check in and check out service. Because we had to leave very early in the morning, before breakfast time, they prepared a very complete food pack for us to have a very correct breakfast, they even made us coffee, we used the wake-up service and they also got us the taxi. Very nice space on the terrace, with the pool, beautiful view of Barcelona at night.
The rooms are very airtight, so you can rest extremely well, very quiet.

There is a reason why places continually get 5 stars, it's because it's deserved.
Our stay at this hotel was wonderful, staff who were not only pleasant and attentive, but were glad to help, a good selection of food was available at breakfast.
Our room was well designed and was cleaned daily, subtle touches like chocolates were left on our bed in the evening.
The hotel was located a short walk to the subway and good eating establishments close by.
A definite 'must' as a place to stay in Barcelona, hopefully we'll be fortunate to stay here again

The hotel is in a good location, has friendly staff and attractive rooms.

However, if you pay €250 for a night, it is a disgrace that not even a single bottle of mineral water is given "for free".

This is completely out of date and shows how important hotel guests are.
For me, this is a complete nonsense!!

Unfortunately, the rating scale does not allow for "sufficient".

This was our third stay at Olivia Balmes hotel and while our friends stayed with their post-cruise at Nobu (which was far from the downtown), we chose to revisit Olivia Balmes and we're so glad we did! The staff are so friendly, the rooms clean and modern. I didn't love the shower being part of the room without the partition, but for a 2-night stay it was fine. It's a family-friendly and business clientele, mainly and we love the location in Eixample. It's close enough to walk to everything in the historic part of Barcelona and it's in a neighborhood where there are high-class stores. It's close to Gaudi Batllo house, Sagrada Familia, the old Roman section, El Call, Picasso Museum and Las Ramblas, which is sadly under construction with jackhammers all around and so we didn't get a chance to visit La Boqueria this time around. But our stay at Olivia Balmes was, as usual, fabulous. Their staff and managers are helpful and friendly. We arrived from a cruise only to discover that one of our pieces of luggage was missing. The porter at the cruise port forgot to load it into the taxi but we thought it might have been left in the cab and the staff kept reassuring me that the cab would return. We called the cruise port and they found our luggage and the staff arranged for us to go back to the dock to get it. Also, they gave directions to the taxi drivers so that we didn't have to. We had a 5:15 am taxi pick-up for our flight home and since breakfast was included in our room rate, they packed us a bag of breakfast goodies to go! Best value in Barcelona....Olivia Balmes...

Very clean, modern, good food, new and helpful.

Located about 2 blocks from Casa MILA or Pedrera which is one of Gaudi’s architectural achievements and also walk to De Gracia where Casa Batllo is, a block from the nearest subway and also 2-3 blocks from the major public bus routes and across taxi stop and many shops from boutiques to famous designers and restaurants - is what you need to rate a good hotel for me.

This is a very contemporary new hotel with glass doors to shower and toilet which you can not be visible and is private. The light to the glass for toilet is automatic so your privacy is automated without thinking.

The hallway light is also very modern.

There is large swimming pool on the roof top and a glassed exercise room so you do not feel boxed in while exercising. Too bad the weather was kind of cold for us to take a swim. But it is a nice feature.

The breakfast area which is also their restaurant has outdoor space inner garden on warmer months. But the area in itself has floor to ceiling windows looking out on the street. Breakfast always has ham from acorn fed pigs, a buffet array including vegetables, fruits and can order omelette, pancakes and cappuccinos on the side. The little croissants are crisp and fresh.

Good access to everything and reasonably priced.

The showers are different so you may have to figure how to work it out. The sink stopper is also different which we also had to learn. It is modern.

First time in Barcelona and stayed at this hotel. Excellent customer service very attentive to requests. The room was clean and it was nice having a balcony. The toilet is separate from the shower which I'm not a fan of usually but it worked out well. I was a bit disappointed with the cleanliness of one small towel as I found a dead bug in it which meant re-washing my hair. The toothpaste they provide is in a small sachet which is enough for one go. I asked the cleaner for more but they didn't have any so went out to buy. Not a problem really just a minor inconvenience. The second night we were given a bottle of wine in our room which was nice of the hotel staff, however we don't drink alcohol so it can be saved for another guest. The beds were OK but I was not sure about cleanliness due to certain smells. I don't think fresh sheets are used when you stay in hotels so I've been told. They just open it up again and remove creases.

The location is good walking distance from the city centre. We took a taxi to La Sagrada Familia as that it a longer walk. I feel as though the taxis in Barcelona are genuine and don't try to rip off tourists.

Overall, I would recommend the hotel even with some disappointments it was still pleasant and the customer service is excellent. Special shout out to Eduardo who is super nice and attentive.

Yes, there were two of us, and the room was spacious enough that we had plenty of room to move around without bumping into each other. Our room, as well as the lobby and restaurant, were beautifully appointed, and the staff was very helpful and accommodating.I agree with someone else's comment that the location is great. There are beautiful trees, fun boutiques, and it's safe. Also, you are just a short walk to some of the big attractions.

I do not recall the mattress being particularly soft or hard. My preference for a firm rather than soft mattress may have influenced my memory. What I do remember is that we slept like babies every night And our experience was fantastic enough to warrant our return to Olivia Balmes without hesitation.
