When I first saw the entrance, I was put off because it looks old. Reception is on the first floor, they were friendly but a bit awkward at times. The elevator is a bit noisy. The hotel location is excellent. Few minutes from plaza catalunya and universitat aerobus stop. The room was spacious clean and quiet. Didn't try breakfast at... More

It is a 2* hotel, but I would say that it is better than this. Our room was big and clean, unfortunately the window was on a "blind" side, hence not airy, however, the advantage was to be so quite and there was no noise at all. At the reception, staff was great and really helpful. Last but not the... More

The Hotel Marvi is a basic hotel , the room we were in was basic, small television, but totally functional, it was clean and tidy , and the staff did a very good job to keep it that way,the WI-FI was also very good. It is a shame that the Hotel does not have Tea and Coffee making facilities in... More

This hotel was chosen for it's ideal position for sightseeing etc. It was a bit of a budget holiday so we chose 2* accommodation - HOWEVER, with a security entry system and a 24 hour reception, maid service every day and free wifi everywhere in the hotel I think we certainly had our monies worth and in fact haven't enjoyed... This hotel offer best location compare with price you pay. Less than minutes to Pl.Catalunya and many shops around. One of the best reason I love this hotel is once you get off from airport bus at pl.universidat, just cross the small road and...that's it. The hotel is just there Only could say...recommend !!

Stayed here for 4 nights with my Partner. The hotel is set in a great location 5mins walk to the Centre. Very clean and basis which is all we needed somewhere to change and sleep. Metro link right outside also. Beds a little hard and really management should look at extra pillow. Overall i would stay again if visiting Barcelona

Stayed here for 4 nights while in Barcelona. Having booked based on TripAdvisor rankings I knew what to expect. The rate was pretty reasonable for a hotel in such a great position. Close to and yet not too close to La Rambla and Placa Cataluyna. A metro station literally on the doorstep and being within a few minutes walk to... More

4 night stay. Staff were excellent. Helpful and gave good advice. Lots of information in reception. Very clean hotel overall, including rooms and bathrooms. No facilities really, except free wifi (which works, but was a bit shonky at times). Noisy. No sound deadening. The last night was a bit awful (other rooms aircon really noisy / talking loudly till 4am... More

Very clean room with a spotless bathroom, we had a balcony onlooking the road that was really nice! The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is a typical continental and well priced. A brilliant stay for those wanting to explore

The Hotel Marvi was a great option for us. We were able to take transit to Placa Catalunya and walk from there. Clean, simple, safe, all that you need. Beds are harder than we are used to, but they worked for the two days that we were there. Simple breakfast with coffee, buns, cheese, meat, yogurt, fruit, cereal and orange... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
