I'll jump directly to what needs to be improved. The toilet and bath has poor ventilation. It will smell. The exhaust fan does not seem to work. The door to the rooms need to be on good hinges and the door itself sanded to fit. So that there is no need to bang the door shut. The lights to the...

The hotel had a perfect location. Just a few minutes of walk to get to La Rambla, Plaza Real, Bari Gotic, Barcelona Cathedral and Plaza Catalunia. It is also a few meters from the Jaume I Metro Station. Breakfast was great coupled with the warm welcome of the lady who runs the nook. Frontdesk staff were so helpful as they...

The hotel has one of the greatest locations. The rooms are clean, nicely designed. However, there are bad odors al the low levels, breakfast is very basic, and the service must get better!! There are only 9 rooms, but the rooms are not cleaned up on time and one day we came for afternoon rest (3pm) and found messy room...

We stayed here for a 4 nights ad we loved it! The room was spacious with a little loft, the interior was stylish and the bed had great comfort. The hotel does not offer a breakfast restaurant but there are plenty of cafés to choose from in the neighborhood ant there was a smal kitchenette in the room for preparing...

My husband and I absolutely loved this place! It was SO perfectly located, clean, quiet, and our room was wonderful. We had everything we needed, and the best part was how close we were to all the restaurants around us. A perfect place!

I stayed here two nights while on a short trip to Barcelona while touring Europe. It is located in a great location but could be a bit hard to find. It is a very short walk from the Jaume I metro station and it would help if there was a better map to get there from the metro as it...

Spend two nights in a very comfortable and spacious apartment like room with two bedrooms, à kitchenette and magnificent tall ceilings and windows! As with so many hotels (4&5 star) it could do with some maintenance, two of the lights in the room didn't work, the kitchenette doors were in their hinges, the freezer front panel no longer connected to...

TripAdvisor ratings for this property were excellent and thus, I booked here for 6 nights. Day one was horrendous, due to the almost hostile attitude of the front desk person named Carla. I do not know what her problem was but a person at the front desk is the first person you see and should set the tone for you...

Visited for 1 night in October having stayed at the main Mercer hotel last year and enjoyed that so much. This is much smaller, a bit older and doesn't have the same amenities but we knew that going in and it is much cheaper. Location is fantastic for a short stay, very central, but do bring earplugs because this does...

We stayed here for 4 nights and would highly recommend staying here. It's right in the Gothic Quarter, 15 walk from the beach and the city park and about 30 minutes walk from Sagrada Família. The hotel room was like an apartment with a bedroom, living room area, small balcony and kitchen. The decor and amenities were really nice. The...

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
