After reading some positive reviews, but keeping in mind the negative reviews about this Hotel’s sketchy business, I took the risk and attempted to make the reservation with the Hotel. I used the Hotel website for reservation. There is no direct booking system. I filled out the form, and requested the room availability. Within seconds, friendly “Sergio” replied my email,...

Good morning, First of all. We are not a sketchy business. It is a very unfair review . Where we are guilty, where we appear like criminals. We would like to say that our business is our guests. And what happened to you is a mistake, we recognize, but it could happen all around the world in any famous hotel....

Just back with my partner from our 10 week trip across Europe (visiting 10 countries and 28 cities) and time to write some reviews! Having stayed at so many B&B's, Hostels and smaller, family run hotels during the course of our trip - we have a fair base on which to make some comparitive critiques - and our overall favorite...

Me and the lads just got back from an amazing stay in Barcelona. Hotel was great, staff are very helpful, they let you know where to eat, sightsee and go out at night. Location is ideal considering the price, just a 3-5 minute walk off the top of Las Ramblas. Rooms are quite unique given that most hotels have come...

We stayed 2 nights at L'Antic Espai and I wish we stayed more! Excellent location, near the busy "Rambla" district and great places to dine, but at the same time in a nice residential area. Very few rooms, each one differs from others in design...wonderful common area decorated in the style of the "belle epoque", with antic furniture, porcelain pictures...

Stayed there with my teen daughter for 4 nights. Great location.. beautiful rooms... But, where were the wonderful, helpful, friendly staff that I read about?? I speak Spanish, so I don't think it was a language thing. When we arrived at the hotel, we were buzzed in and someone carried our bags up the flight of stairs, but the gentleman...

Two nights here on 16th - 18th November out of Newcastle ... on recommendation from TripAdvisor reviews (of course...) Easy to find thanks to directions on this site Airport bus to Plaza de Catalunya €3.95 (you can pay on bus .. the ticket machine next to the stop at the airport Terminal 1 didn't take our banknotes, and there's no...

My wife and I stayed at the Hostal L'Antic Espai in room 101. As noted a few times it’s a little hard to find but we had the address and with a little mixture of Spanish and English between us and the taxi driver we found it. Pros: Good price Clean rooms & bath Quiet enough even though we faced...

I stayed at the L'Antic Espai for one night after flying from Newark. Very well located and they got my room ready for me by 1PM which I appreciated greatly. I can't remember the room number, but believe me when I tell you that while the room was lovely and the bed was an antique, it was about 5'6" long,...

Ditto all the rave reviews about this charming, brilliantly located place run by the friendliest, most helpful bunch of hoteliers. My husband and I (professionals in our 50s) will definitely stay there the next time we're in Barcelona. A few words about room choice, from the back-of-the-door diagram in our room: We stayed in 107, a double-plus-bath with a parlor...

We discovered this gem through Trip Advisor & everything about it was fantastic. Our stay of 9 days was great since the art nouveau buildings(which we loved so much) were so close. The location couldn't be better; the staff was very accommodating & pleasant; etc. We appreciated the owner who is passionate about collecting antiques for the rooms. He worked...

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
