The experience at the hotel was excellent. It is small for American Standards, but it is well decorated, full of charm and very comfortable. The staff is very friendly and make you feel comfortable at once. The Hotel is well located, outside of the noisy and crowded areas, but within walking distance from the Ramblas distric. I highly recommend this...

We booked our stay at Villa Emilia on our second visit to Barcelona, September 2016. We stayed there for a week and this accommodation decision was based on a bunch of reviews from other travellers. My overall rating for Villa Emilia is that it is a very average property with an average accommodation experience, here's why. Location: On the property's...

Thank you for your feedback. Of course, we respect our guests´privacy, but our staff are happy to help with any of your needs. Villa Emilia is located in the heart of Barcelona, in the neighbourhood of Eixample, which is accessible by metro and bus should you choose not to walk. This is a very nice hotel. 1. The location is out of the way of the tourist areas/compared to staying on and around the Ramblas. It's about 20 minutes to walk to the Ramblas, however you can take the train which is very close to the hotel. We like it because it feels much more local. 2. This is THE...

The hotel was absolutely lovely, modern, fashionable classy interia, immaculately clean with nice friendly staff. There were however two issues with the room which would mean we wouldn't go back - which is a shame given everything else was so nice. The first was that the rooms were a bit warm with no way of turning down the heating down...

We recently stayed at Hotel Villa Emilia for the second time. We chose this hotel because of our previous enjoyable experience. The hotel is local, comfortably small ad attractive. The staff is very friendly, efficient and helpful. We also enjoy the Zinc Bar for breakfast, drinks and appetizers or dinner. When a place attracts as many locals as this bar...

Do NOT get any rooms on the 1F or 2F (or 2nd or 3rd floors, since they start counting from GF). Those two floors are extremely noisy. We got Room 12 and could hear everything outside of our room until 2am every night!!! I'm a deep sleeper and I still could hear everything, which is very unusual. It's the same...

What started out as a wonderful experience turned extremely frustrating . . . I understand that, on New Year's Eve, people celebrate late, but when you're suffering from a significant time difference and jet lag, sleep becomes a higher priority than partying. But when I went to turn in to go to the bed, the VERY LOUD music from the...

We recently spent the week at the hotel and it was truly a wonderful hotel experience. Rooms were very nice and the lobby, bar, restaurant was exceptionally charming. All the staff were very friendly, helpful beyond the norm. Excellence but extra cost breakfast buffet. I had read that the hotel was a little further from the main attractions, but it...

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
