This was not a bad hostel to stay in for two nights. However, the location was extremely noisy and the bathrooms needed serious cleaning. I only showered once because the shower curtains had brown mildew all over them and were relatively see through, also. I will say the beds were clean and everyone is provided with fresh sheets. I would... More

4 of us booked into the room for 10 people. Struggled to sleep due to noise from the street outside and the windows not closing properly. Snoring roommates also made this difficult - bring earplugs and an eye mask if you want sleep! Wifi only works on the ground floor which wasn't stated on the website. Bathrooms weren't particularly clean.... More

Shared a 10 bed mixed dormitory. Very basic youth hostel with poor foam mattresses, bunk beds that wobbled and no wifi in the room - only accessible downstairs. There was a plug and light above bed and lockers were next to beds with keys. Unfortunately bathrooms are pretty grim, mainly the showers which don't look like they are cleaned very... More

Fantastic location and friendly staff. There isn't much room to move in the quad share room and the beds and pillows are very hard. The shared bathrooms were not very clean and there was nowhere private to keep your belongings while showering.

Very cheap and central, but don't stay if you plan on getting any sleep. Dorm rooms have no ventilation and get very hot, and the noise both in the hostel and from the street is very loud and goes on until the early hours. Breakfast is included every morning for free which was very nice. Free walking tours are also... More

Overall we had a really good stay here. The general facilities and free breakfast were basic but the hostel was definitely good value for money. The Staff at reception were very friendly and helpful and the Location of the hostel is perfect. Would definitely recommend if you are in need of somewhere central and cheap to stay while in Barcelona.

Disappointed in the hostel. I understand a hostel is a place for a cheap stay, however the noise levels exceeded that which earplugs did not help. The staff were friendly, but when noise was an issue it was brushed off. Two showers and two toilets (for females) to be shared among over 30 people was not helpful. The beds were... More

First time I've stayed in a hostel it was cheap and wasn't planning on spending much time in there as was on a stag weekend but to put it politely what a Dive Checking in was a mess the room was more like a prison cell with Windows that would not shut. The beds ( if you can call them... More

We left early as this place was so bad. Just to mention a few things, the dorm door was broken, window broken, lift extremely noisy, you have to make your own bed but the worst thing is that they don't even tell you this and you just assume that you sleep on a dirty mattress. No kitchen to cook, place... More

Two girls having a mini city break. We are used to hostels and know what to expect for what we pay. This was a basic hostel, the all female dorm had good size lockers and the beds were comfy for a hostel. We were on the 2nd floor and had the balcony door always open which did mean we got... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
