Clean and comfortable bed for a cheap and cheerful stay. Staff leave you to enjoy your stay without too much interference for a hostel. Hotel was also considerably quiet, the shared bathrooms were also fine.

Very old building, rustic feel. Decent location, within walking distance from La Rambla. Very basic accommodation. The bed was not the most comfortable for me and the pillows could do with a tiny bit more filler material. The air conditioning in my room would periodically make gurgling noises which i found somewhat disruptive during the night. Overall satisfactory, good location...

Plus sides: The hostel had a good location. Minuses: The walls of our room were extremely dirty, the hostel staff should really consider cleaning and painting them. The room we had booked was a double room but instead we had a room with single beds. The room had a small balcony but the traffic noise was disturbing at night time....

We wanted a budget place as location was the most important criteria. We were travelling with another couple and we both found our rooms basic but clean although we did have problems with the shower flooding the bathroom - small shower cubicles with curtains are always a problem. The terrace is really nice and one evening we bought some picnic...

One of the worst experiences of my life in a hostel. Simply a horrible room. In the description of the site my boyfriend and i had read about a spacious room, high ceilings. The room costs 60 euro per night, just arrived they made us sit in what seemed to us a closet. The room was stuffy and very dark,...

I was stay there with my family and we like a lot. We really recommend it. Located in the center of Barcelona. Really comfortable for the price that we had pay. Our rooms were number 1 and number 2 and near to the the Mediterranean terrace.

I don't really get all the bad reviews for this hostel/hotel. I don't know what people expect for the price. What we got for €50 a night was a nice, high ceilinged room with a decent window, a double bed, bed-side shelves, a wardrobe, a low table for suitcase, couple of chairs and a table by the window. The sink...

It was the worst hotel I have been to for long time. On the other hand, it was really what they advise it to be, big room with tiled floor and simple bathroom, but only that. The bathroom was stinky, we had to buy some WC parfume. The shower was with the sheet around which gives you almost no space...

Agua Algre, located quite close to the busy streets of Barcelona, immiedietly gives off a bad impression to new comers by it's cracked main door which fails to even lock. The landing of the hostel/hotel seems to appeal to guests, however this quickly changes to anyone who sees the rest of the building which offers not much more than that...

Pluses: central location nice patio ok services Minuses: we got room with window that was facing elevator and there was no natural light (room was very dark and gloomy) in general due to being close to elevator it was quite loud all night room was very basic To sum up: I would expect for that price something better.

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
