The only reasons I stay in this hotel is because it's supposedly adults only and has a fairly decent swimming pool even if the shallow end is cut off by a foot bridge which should be removed to lengthen it and they should dig a bit deeper too at that end. On this stay I came across children on two occasions including a couple with a pushchair and two small children in the restaurant. The hotel definitely doesn't deserve 4 stars, it's a 3 star hotel with a pool. The rooms are simple. The last time I stayed I left a comment saying the shower was really slippery and nothing had changed a year later. I had the same room, the previous year I had cleaned the air vent over the shower myself as it was clogged with dust and a year later I had to do it again as they obviously hadn't touched it in the meantime. The food in the restaurant is really bad which is a shame because it could be nice sitting outside in the evening by the pool. The bar isn't much better as the seats are just benches with cushions on and not at all comfortable. I just went through a lot of the photos on this site and saw they were commissioned by Trip Advisor. The hotel is not nearly as nice as in the photos. They are really rigid about check-in and check-out times and I actually had to pay an extra night to stay three more hours in my room so I booked another room on Internet as it was cheaper and changed rooms which was really ridiculous as that meant they had to clean two rooms instead of two so they should have just charged me a small supplement to stay in the the first room instead of demanding more than an extra night. I was in the annex which I definitely do not recommend as it's miles away from the main pool and I only took a room there on my last two stays as it was the only place where they had a double mattress but the problem was that the Wifi didn't work and a year later on my second stay they hadn't even bothered to sort that out and they obviously won't as it's a low budget hotel. Someone should take over the hotel, renovate it, improve the restaurant and expand the pool and also repair the pool showers while they are at it. And if it's an adult only hotel then they should completely ban children. The nearest beach is mainly stony and not that nice and it will take you 15 minutes to walk into town. I saw the 5 star reviews and the 1 star reviews and to be honest it should be rated 3 stars. They will probably respond to this review like they usually do but of course they won't change anything. Next time I will stay closer to the town centre which is a shorter walk and has better beaches.

I was there for my Birthday in the middle of October. Due Covid we were basically the only ones in the whole hotel! Still it was a very nice stay, the food in the restaurant was very good, we had a 3 course meal and they customed all our wishes! The room was also clean and in a great location, with views to the pool. The location near the beach and the city center was also perfect! I recommend it a lot☺️

I have just come back from another stay in the Antemare – Adults Only Hotel in Sitges. I thought that it would be useful to add to my previous comments on Tripadvisor.... plus a few photos. This time I also booked a two week stay... but found it difficult to leave so I stayed an extra 10 days! All in all, I will have stayed over five weeks in this hotel this Summer so I am getting to know it really well. I was welcomed back as a “previous guest” – a nice touch which contrasts with the anonymity of larger hotel chains. My room was ready, spotlessly clean and with the special “Pandemic” amenities I referred to in my previous review. One thing that I had not noticed on my last stay was a “pillow menu” giving a choice of three different types of comfort (see photo). I thought that this was an up-market touch I have seen more often on cruise lines. I again opted for 'full board' which was a good choice. The food was consistently good and beautifully presented – generous portions which I sometimes had difficulty finishing. The Chef's “Arroz Negro” black rice (a Catalonian and Valencian speciality with cuttlefish ink) was probably the best I have tasted anywhere. I'm not a great dessert person but found the offerings to be lackluster and industrial. There is however a daily offering of fresh (and ripe!) fruit. A few times a week the Chef offers a home-made Crema Catalana (a type of Crème Brulée) and a home-made cheese-cake with raspberry sherbet – just delicious. The restaurant also offers an A la Carte menu at additional cost. The wine list was good and the house wine very palatable at a reasonable price. Some great Catalonian wines were also proposed. The service in the restaurant was gracious and personalized – on weekends you could feel that the workload was stressful but they remained smiling and attentive. The Chief Housekeeper, María, heads a team of room attendants who are nothing short of fantastic. They have a hard job with the extra workload due to the Pandemic. On the day of my departure my room attendant Hayat left me a Farewell/BonVoyage note - I haven't seen that for a long time in my years of travels. I had the privilege of a chat with the Hotel Director who explained the difficulties of the present situation for the Spanish Tourism Industry. He was very attentive to my comments and suggestions. I take this opportunity of wishing him and his staff all the best in the difficult months ahead. Hotel Antemare has become a home away from home. To sum up, I was happy here – it was a nice feeling. I would go back in a heart-beat. Please let me know if you think that this review was useful – I'm sorry if it is rather long. I shall be pleased to answer any questions you may have.

It was our third time in this hotel. We came twice in July and came again this august. First visit was pretty good. Our room had some problems such as broken wardrobe, broken mini bar door and a broken toilet door. We told about the problems to reception. But the rest was good. Our second stay was also Ok. But the last one stay was awful. We were given a bigger room that we booked, but it was very very dirty, lots of dust and long black hair in the floor. In such a difficult time Covid-19 give a very dirty room to a guest? There were only 1 pack of towels, and there were an old air-condition system. That one where you can not choose a temperature but only intensity. It is an august in Span and a temperature during the day is more than 30 degrees. It is not possible to survive with out good condition. In order to sleep we should move a bed closer to condition, but it did not helped a lot. In the morning a cleaning staff was shouting very loudly and annoying. Like in "which room are you? how long would it take?". We are very disappointed.

I have recently returned from a two-week holiday in the “Antemare - Adults Only” Hotel in Sitges and would like to share my thoughts. I booked the holiday on the hotel's website and the price was cheaper than elsewhere. Be careful, however, I did not receive e-mail confirmation from the website and was lucky enough to have taken a screenshot with the reservation reference. Without this you cannot modify or cancel your reservation online and you have to call the hotel directly. The Antemare is located in a nice residential area away from the night-time noise of the centre. It is a lovely walk to town along the seaside promenade (about 10 minutes). The beach is a few metres from the hotel - there are underwater pebbles which make it a bit slippery. Check-in was a breeze (about 3 minutes) and my key-card was already prepared and waiting even though the 'online check-in' feature on the website had not worked. In these difficult times of Covid19 the hotel is well prepared – there are hand-sanitiser dispensers placed strategically and all the staff wear masks. Masks are obligatory for guests in the public areas but not when seated at the bar, at table in the restaurant or on the loungers around the swimming pool. Social distancing is applied everywhere so you can see that the hotel has taken the problem seriously and you feel secure. The room has a minimalist decor and was spotless. Crisp white bedlinen enhances the impression of overall cleanliness. There were disinfectant towelettes and hand-sanitiser available. For obvious sanitary reasons the mini-bar was empty but could be filled on request. I had a problem with the in-room safe and this was dealt with promptly by the reception staff. I needed some more hangers for the closet and these were also supplied promptly. The beds are really comfortable (two twins that can be made up to a queen size on request) and had a memory foam mattress. I suggested some extra storage at the bedside tables and my idea was taken into account. The bathroom has a walk-in shower with fantastic water pressure. There are wall-mounted soap dispensers at the wash-hand basin and in the shower and also plenty of good quality amenities (shower gel and shampoo). A hand-held hair-dryer is available in the closet. The air-conditioning worked well and was easily adjusted. All the hotel amenities, bar, restaurant and swimming pool are available (except for the spa, closed at present due to the pandemic). The restaurant is spacious with indoor and outdoor seating. The buffet breakfast is fabulous – a great selection... even a glass of Cava to get your day off to a good start. At present the buffet selection is not self-serve but is served by the restaurant personnel. This is obviously an extra work-load for the staff but they are smiling and helpful. I opted for full board and was never disappointed by the offerings on the set menu (choice of three starters, three main dishes and three desserts). The menu was varied with Spanish and international dishes. The Chef is very inventive. I like powdered ginger on my melon (my Mum's idea!) and bought some locally and gave it to the kitchen. A few days later the Chef surprised me with a delicious cold Cucumber and Melon soup with sprinkled ginger! The Head Waiter, Mounir, and his wait-staff form an efficient team. They get to know the client's preferences and you get to know them by name. They deal with the extra work-load due to the pandemic with efficiency and a smile! I felt that an extra person in the bar would have been helpful as they have to man the bar and serve at the restaurant at the same time. The bar was never crowded. They have a fantastic selection of gins so if you are a fan, Sergio can fix you a great Hendrick's and premium tonic with cucumber. The pool area is 'capacity-controlled' by the number of loungers and I never had a problem. Towels are available at reception. The pool itself is large and there were never too many guests. The advantage of the Antemare is the “small hotel” experience. You are a client, not a room number and the staff get to know you. The atmosphere is laid-back, good humoured and tranquil. To sum up, I had a perfect holiday in the Antemare. I have booked again for next month.
