First, hats off to Candida and her front-desk staff for a wonderful stay and great service. The staff bends over backwards to be helpful and you feel extremely welcome. They are, quite simply, the best. Then there is the matter of how prepared this hotel is for the Covid crisis: I felt more safe here than I do at home or anywhere else for that matter. The hotel has carefully put arrows on the floor everywhere telling guests where it is safe to stand whether it be at the reception, waiting for the elevator or in the breakfast room. Everyone wore a mask at all times too. Finally, I ate at the Aqua restaurant every night because I felt safe there and wanted to avoid going into town much and some of the food was simply divine. The scallops were the best I have ever had in my life and the servers in the restaurant were quite attentive. The same goes for breakfast where the staff were friendly and helpful and Cava is included in breakfast. The hotel is at the end of the corniche in an idyllic location but they provide free bikes to get into town so everything is easily accessible. I have been coming to this hotel for years and it just keeps getting better and better. I would live there full time if I could lol! Congrats to the staff. Your hard work is paying off!

First lunch out after lockdown and although the service was lovely and we realised that it’s very difficult to cater for guests when you’ve got no idea how many people are going to be there it was very disappointing. Both the scallops and tuna dishes had been defrosted in the microwave and the scallops especially tasted rubbery and very odd. The tuna had a spongy texture which was equally disappointing. If you’re going to serve defrosted seafood at least defrost in a water bath or in a sealed plastic bag in warm water. Happy to spend longer with a glass of wine to eat something that doesn’t taste rubbery or spongy. The final disappointing straw was the salad which was on the point of disintegration. After all this time in lockdown and being local we won’t be eating there again. Hugely disappointing.

Pleasant hotel at the end of the strip in a calm location with great views. Indoor and outdoor pool. One-bedroom apartments with sofabed and small kichen. The bedroom is not totally sealed off from the living room. Furniture and bedding are a bit old. Great balcony directly facing the ocean. We found the staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fine. Town is 20 minute walk but they have free bikes that you can use. All in all, we had an excellent stay.

The hotel is at the very end of Sitges far away from everything and only has a small stony beach near it, you have to walk towards the town centre to find a decent beach. On their site it says the hotel was built in 2013 but it looks more like something out of the 80s. It is really run-down and should be completely renovated. The furniture was old, ugly and uncomfortable in the bedroom and living room which had a kitchen corner with a washing machine, my bedroom door wouldn't close, the bed was only 140cms wide and all the curtains had holes in. The reason I stayed there was that it was December and it was the only hotel in town with an indoor swimming pool which was the only good thing there even if it was a bit small to swim lengths. You had to go to reception to get a towel and then return it with a ticket they gave you. . After my swim I went to reception to return the towel and the girl there completely ignored me and continued with what she was doing although it would have taken her an instant to take the hotel. Finally another receptionist saw me standing there and took the towel back. On the ground floor there was a fish restaurant called Acqua and a pub called Vento with large screen TV screens to watch football matches. I didn't want to go into town so went to Acqua for dinner and apart from a table of 6 people, I was the only one there. I wanted to have a relaxing evening and I wasn't in a hurry. I especially didn't want to be served too quickly so only wanted to order one dish at a time but the waitress insisted I order everything. I ordered a bottle of wine and two dishes and said I wanted a gap between them as I didn't want to be rushed. I started with croquetas caseras de lubina and gambas for €6.10 which were alright. There was a young and totally inexperienced waiter there who didn't come up one single time to fill up my wine glass. It all seemed to be too much for him although he and the waitress had just two tables to take care of. I finished the croquetas and the waitress took the plate away and the waiter arrived less than 30 seconds later with the next dish. I suppose they were in a hurry to get rid of everyone so they could go home early. The dish was dados de atun macerados con mango y salsa ponzu for €9.60. The tuna was cut into huge pieces and was so chewy I had to spit some pieces out. I was glad I hadn't ordered anything else. I took the rest of the bottle of wine to my room and went to the bar for a free glass of Cava which I had got a voucher for on check-in at the bottom of a sheet of paper with some information on it. I stood at the bar and ordered a glass of Cava from an extremely surly waiter called Albano who ignored me too and took two dishes from the kitchen and went to serve some people in the restaurant part of the bar. He came back and I asked for a glass of Cava again. He put a glass of Cava in front of me, tore off the coupon and walked off without a word. Later on I asked a waitress for an ice bucket. She had just brought back a dirty one from a table, took the dirty glasses out of it and plonked it on the bar in front of me. Since most of the ice had melted, I asked for more ice. Albano took the bucket, added some ice and dumped it on the counter without even looking at me. I couldn't believe how rude the pair of them were. The next day I went to have a look at the gym with had 2 very old seated bikes, 2 cross trainers, 2 treadmills, a multistation, 2 benches and some weights. I went to the pool and came back to my room to have a shower where I noticed black mold all around the bathtub. Despite the Do Not Disturb sign on the door the housekeeper just walked in as I was coming out of the shower stark naked. Don't housekeepers know what happens to them when they walk into hotel rooms unannounced? Or maybe they haven't heard of the incident with DSK in New York. The first thing this hotel needs to do is teach the staff some manners or better still fire them and while they're at it, they should knock the whole place down too.
