A beautiful building and museum, great breakfast and very friendly staff, but not so impressive rooms. The beds make your back ake and the air-condition does not work well, with the result that the air is stiff and hot every morning. Windows can be opened, though it's difficult, but the noise outside makes it impossible to sleep with the windows open....

This hotel is beyond incredible - a museum that it is a privilege to be allowed to stay in! The bedrooms, the staff, the ambience, the history, the position, the cost (!) - all just fabulous. Breakfast was excellent but not so good the restaurant. The food was average (we ate better food in the town in much cheaper restaurants)...

The hotel shares the plaza with the cathedral allowing you to visit at whatever hour you wish (we went at 7AM and had the cathedral to ourselves). There is paid valet parking---but you cannot reserve it in advance. Just drive up to the front of the hotel through the hoards of visitors---it's allowed! This is a luxury property and rooms...

This Parador is one of the two finest in Spain (the other is the one in Leon). But it is becoming deluged by its own success and popularity. I have visited this Parador 3 times over the last 20 years but it no longer has the "wow" factor. The small reception desk was often overwhelmed by the arrival of guests...

A well deserved gift to ourselves after a long Camino. Great service, great room and very good food. A major contrast to days in alberges. We had dinner both in the main restaurant and the pelegrino restaurant.and enjoyed both. Had room away from the square, therefore not bothered by the noise. Expensive yes, but we deserved it!

We stayed for one night ,apparently this is one of only two 5 star Parador's in Spain , I am afraid this is not 5 star , it has a central location on the square of the famous cathedral , with it comes the associated noise from the square . The rooms although large have authentic but uncomfortable furniture ,the...

Stunning property and a real pleasure to be there but, as many reviewers have already stated, some of the reception staff are very off-hand. No BBC World Service TV although it was listed as being available, air-conditioning in room did not work although we reported it immediately. Some of the cooked breakfast on the buffet was absolutely stone cold. When...

Being just a few meters from the Cathedral, one of the three places catholics should go, in a building full of five hundred years of history, in renovated rooms, was a wonderful experience. People just come to visit the hotel, so being there is what I say, the place to be in Santiago. Staff was very helpful (they have to...

This was an old hospital. It is situated just next to the cathedral. If you don't stay in the hotel at least have a look around. It it worth it! All the rooms are different and the room have a great size. We stayed in a double room which there is an option to upgrade but I have to say...

This is one of the few Paradors rated as 5* and is by some distance the most expensive to stay in, so we were expecting something really special. Having stayed in a lot of Paradors, we were used to the standard of accommodation to expect. Our conclusion was that there were a couple of Paradors that we rated more highly...
