Located 5 minutes walk from the cathedral and easy to find by car - free parking is a bonus. Wonderful architecture and very smart rooms - our suite was in superb condition and was large and bright, with a view over the gardens. Staff friendly and gave excellent ideas on things to see in Santiago including the 12pm pilgrims' mass... More

I made reservations for SF Hotel Monumento for the night after competing the Camino. One of the best decisions on the whole trip. Excellent location with wonderful staff, HOT shower/bath, excellent breakfast spread, and free wifi for catching up. I highly recommend it! I travel worldwide and must say this will be a repeat stay in the future.

A very comfortable stay in an absolutely beautiful historical building very close to the Cathedral. Our spacious room was spotlessly clean with a large bathroom, and original architectural features such as high beamed ceiling and stone walls. In the centre of the building there's a peaceful cloistered terrace with relaxing fountain and waiter service. Communal spaces feature glass panels in... More

An exceptional hotel very near to the cathedral of Santiago. Based on a converted ancient and historic monastery, the building has been renovated internally to result in a mix of ancient stone walling and modern glass and steel. This mix has been very well executed and strikes a surprising well balanced outcome. The building and internals per se are exceptional... More

I stayed at the San Francisco for a couple nights at the end of a cycling trip. The building is an old monastery and they have incorporated the ancient walls and, in some place, ruins of the structure into what is a very comfortable, modern hotel. You really feel the history of the city within the walls of the hotel.... More

Lovely old monastery very well located...150 m walk from the cathedral.Breakfast was excellent but pricey at €16 p.h. Room was large, quiet with good views out the window of all coming and going.Front desk staff could not be faulted. They were ever so helpful, finding lost luggage for an associate. We would stay again.

The location cannot be beaten. Tbe rooms are very spacious considering it is a monastery. The service is 5 star. The Franciscan monks are honored & reflected in the use of brown like their robes and the minimalist approach to the decor. There are some lovely event spaces. Cant wait to go back.

Stayed here 2 nights and had a wonderful corner room. True example where the ancient meets the modern with the best of both. Lovely use of Spanish stone and modern almost Scandinavian style cabinetry to create a peaceful and welcoming room that was quite spacious. Stone used in bathroom on tub wall, which was unique and beautiful, there were towel... More
