We didn't stay at the Rock Hotel but had lunch there while on a day visit to Gibraltar. It was all excellent, both the food and the attentive service from Abdallah Ghazi. The menu has a mixture of English and Moroccan influences. The bright wisteria-covered terrace overlooking the sea is a great place for coffee afterwards.

Stayed at the rock hotel for two nights in what seemed like a lovely room with fabulous views out to sea. The room was modern and clean with huge balcony looking out to the town and sea. Hotel was half way up a steep hill not for the faint hearted ... Ok walking down but a killer walking back. We...

The Rock Hotel looks like something straight out of a Sean Connery James Bond flick. We stayed here for 2 nights. We chose this hotel primarily because of the views offered but also because of it's proximity to "The Rock". Location wise the Rock Hotel is about 10-15 minutes from the airport by taxi. You can get to the hotel...

Excellent hotel. We must go back soon. We had a beautiful room with a wonderful view, all the way to North Africa! Watching the ships go through the Straits. So much more to see and do in Gibraltar. A trip in the cable car to see the Barbary apes was fantastic. Pick your time for the cable car to avoid...

We had a room at the back overlooking the harbour - views are wonderful. Lovely outside bar area with wisteria growing everywhere. Our room was a bit tired and the bathroom smelt of old plumbing but everything worked except for the kettle which blew the fuses in our room - quickly fixed. Food was very good and staff friendly and...

Everything about this hotel is perfect, bedroom, building, location, staff, view from our room looking over the sea and a view of the mountains of North Africa. Bus number 2 drops you outside the hotel, and of course the hotel gas easy access to the cable car and Main Street.

Lovely and elegant,1930's style hotel with wisteria terrace and afternoon tea, cakestands ,etc. You can imagine Frank Sinatra crooning in the corner and Agatha Christie sipping tea while working on her next book. Reasonable price food in the lounge bar, though limited menu...would advise to eat in the hotel because the cuisine in the rest of Gibraltar is not up to much.Went...

Lovely hotel, great breakfast and relaxing lounge bar with it's far reaching views. Like other hotels it suffers from banging door syndrome. If somebody comes in at 2am you'll likely know about it. Door closers need adjusting.

Dear Dave J, Many thanks for taking the time to write to me personally following your recent stay at The Rock Hotel. We have taken very constructively the comments regarding the door closer mechanism and this morning I have addressed this with our maintenance team so that a general check is undertaken including the room that you stayed in. My wife and I stayed here for a whole week, from 9th March 2017. Upon arrival we were confronted by a flight of about 15 steps from the front door up to the Reception desk. A confusing sign indicated that the adjacent lift would not deposit us at Reception. So, we started to drag our suitcases up the steps and...
