The building is very beautiful, staff is very friendly and location is very convenient. You should definitely have breakfast here, because they have one of the best breakfast buffets in the Madrid! Room is also very nice, only minor point is that we were on the top floor and had a very small window, so we didn't have a view.

A small hotel very nice and well located 10 minutes walk from Gran Via. Metro station 100 meters away. Breakfast is fine. What not good- on Sunday only dining room opens at 8:00 am and our flight was at 10: 40 so that we could not eat. In addition to the reservation charge was 519 euros but actually I was...

Great location and spacious room. Traveling with three kids and being able to find a family suite is a super plus! My son got sick one night and staff was very helpful with the cleanup. Breakfast is plentiful as well!

Stayed here for just one night but agree with previous reviewers: convenient boutique hotel in an area with lots of bars open late into the night and next to the metro. Comfortable room with strong wifi connection. Breakfast excluded but many terrace places nearby.

Petit Palace Santa Barbara is a minute's walk from Alonso Martinez metro stop and approx. 10 minute walk to Gran Via. On the outside the hotel looks odd and in-keeping with the other buildings. Inside, the space is light and has a modern feeling. We had a large room facing the street. Black out curtains shut out all light and...

Staying in Chueca

Neighbourhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighbourhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
