The Hostal Anton Martin is very centrally located, on a quiet street, only a few minutes walk from the Plaza Mayor, the Atocha Railway station, etc. It has a load of amenities nearby, e.g, metro, cafes, shops. The staff were very friendly and the room was cleaned daily. The room has a TV (incl. Youtube), WiFi, a fridge, a safe, en-suite, air conditioning. However, the 'superior' double room is quite compact. Also, you have to check-in, and check-out, at the Hostal Cervelo (200m-300m away) and breakfast is served at the Hostal Cervelo. The breakfast has a good selection on offer. Overall, good value for money, but I would have booked a larger room if I had known. I would give 3 - 3.5 stars.
Stayed for the weekend with friends (room 3) and was really impressed by Hostal Anton Martin, daily housekeeping, comfortable beds, balcony, working aircon, large room with storage and sitting area. Recently renovated room looked just as the pictures and felt brand new. Check in took place at Hostal Cervello a few mins walk down the road who also offered luggage storeage. Area is seconds from a metro, shops and close to C. de las Huertas with many great bars. Only improvement would be to have a small fridge in the room.
