Be sure you don’t book a room that is nonrefundable. My money wasn’t refundable when I had a family emergency. I tried to cancel and was told my room didn’t qualify. I think that should be more obvious. When I do get there I won’t be staying in this hotel.
Major pluses of the hotel are price and proximity to the airport. I believe I paid 60 euros for the combined taxi trips to and from the hotel and around 45 for the night’s stay. The area around the hotel is akin to an industrial park. They serve food and drink, but you could grab something easily at the airport. Water in hotel taps is fine to drink. I did not see any drinks or snacks in the room. Staff were lovely. The place is minimalist but contemporary, comfortable and clean. It is clearly aimed as a stop over hotel rather than a holiday spot and to this end it is fine and dandy. In consequence, recommended.
From the Airport shuttle drivers to the cleaners, restaurant staff, reception and general workers throughout this establishment - what a wonderful bunch of people you all are. We think you all love your jobs at this hotel, are paid well and just love making guests feel completely at home. Staff training and cleanliness seems to be high up on the agenda at Crowne Plaza group of hotels. Absolutely immaculate and an honour to pay you to stay here. A 100% smoke free hotel, great food, fabulous internet reception with an all round 10 out of 10 for even finding weary travelers some English books to Read from the book club.
It's a bit dated and the rooms not overly big but the bed was good and the bathroom was nice as well. Clean all around. Checking in was a breeze, nice staff. There is a restaurant but the layout nor the menu can be considered a fine dining experience. 4 miles from the airport which sets you back EU 26 by taxi, shuttle only once per hour on the hour but doesn't start until 6 AM which was too late for an early flight out. Not bad at all for a one night stay
We just spent 3 nights waiting for a flight back to the US. The staff, which includes restaurant, housekeeping and front desk are all top notch. The room and bathroom were well appointed but what really impressed us was the friendly service!
Excellent stay in Madrid from beginning to the end. I was upgraded to a mini suite room since I am a platinum IHG member. The receptionist Mr. Alvaro welcome me and enhance my check-in experience. The room was just great, nice Jacuzzi and bath. Nice flowers and decoration, Complimentary water& snacks plus a mini bar if you wanted to buy extra things. Diner was amazing and well prepare, Every employee I meet it was simply nice and friendly.
Unfortunately the initial impression was poor as Antonio became rude with raised emotions along with a poor attitude when I had questioned the original booking and room as it was changed at check in. That said, the room was great although the bed is on the hard side. Shuttle service overall was good and this service will incur a small charge from Dec 12th. I believe the charge is to be 2.5 euro each way. The rest of the staff were professional and helpful.
Booked a day use room and didn't go past the check-in process because how incompetent and rude the receptionist Antonio was. I sent a direct complaint on the hotel's website but still haven't heard back from them! Avoid this hotel if you can.
We checked in late/early September 22, 2022. Our flight was cancelled, so we were on a late flight. The clerks were pleasant, but we were assigned an old, smelly room unlike ANY of the pictures on the website. The tub/shower was very awkward to get into (we are 70+) , thus unsafe. We were tired and just got what little sleep we could. The airport shuttle doesn't go until 7 am, and we wanted to go earlier so we got a taxi. We booked this hotel well in advance and still wonder why we were treated this way.
The rooms are quite large and have a well lit desk area. There are ample outlets for plugging in your phone and iPad. The bed is very comfortable and there’s an assortment of pillows to choose from. There is a mini refrigerator in the room and there is a hot water pot to make coffee or tea. The only reason the hotel did not get five stars is that the shuttle service is somewhat limited- once per hour and ends at 23:00 from the airport. Taxi fare from airport to the Crowne Plaza is €26 one way. So you have to get the shuttle or pay a pretty steep premium to stay at this hotel.
