Fantastic hotel close to Madrid Barajas International Airport.
I am at the hotel now, the whole experience has been perfect.
Excellent shuttle service, very friendly driver.
Quick, efficient & friendly check in, front desk staff very friendly & helpful.
Restaurant really good, food was enjoyable, restaurant/ bar waiter, again super friendly & excellent service.
The room is superb, very spacious & very clean, in fact immaculate, great job Lucky.
Bed & pillows super comfortable.
One small negative, a really stupid idea to place large 2 white labels on bottom of the TV, makes it tough to focus on TV.
Room facilities, inc tea, coffee, etc. all very good & plenty of it.
Bathroom comes with bath & shower, very spacious & again all absolutely spotless.
This room & this hotel are a credit to the staff & management team, great job ladies & gentlemen.
This is how you run a hotel.

On business in the area and near this hotel, so it made sense to stay here. :-)

Used the shuttle from the airport to the hotel, friendly and efficient service.

Wow, what an amazing welcome from Alicia on reception. Kind, helpful, informative and friendly. Asked for a room which overlooked the busy main road and the airport runway and Alicia made it possible. The windows are well insulated, so hardly any noise disturbs either during the day or night. The planes take a low and close approach to the airport, but hardly any noise. There is a “quiet area” of the hotel which can easily be requested. Lovely little sitting area just off reception with a coffee machine which takes euro coins.

Thank you to Regimo (housekeeping) for Spanish lessons, coffee, biscuits and a spotless room. We miss you.

There is always a couple of taxis waiting outside the gate of the hotel and they will whisk you into the fantastic city of Madrid, taking about 20 minutes for a cost of around 23 euros. We used Uber as well and they worked out more or less the same price as the taxi.

Used the restaurant 5 nights running - great chef and enjoyed every meal. A big shout out “Thank You “ to Juan, Leandro and the ever so bubbly Vivian for making every night enjoyable with such friendly, welcoming service. By the way ....Happy hour is between 5pm and 7pm. Breakfast is very good too.

Room air conditioning works very well and if the weather turns chilly, which it did, then just turn the dial for heating.

Like others have said, we can confirm there is absolutely nothing of interest or use in the immediate area. The nearest Shopping / food mall is Plenilunio a 10 minute taxi ride away, approx 15 euros.

If you need an excellent, spotlessly clean, friendly, relaxing, welcoming hotel - check in to the Crowne Plaza Madrid, you will not be disappointed.

Thank you to all the staff for looking after us so well during our 8 nights. We’d return in a heartbeat. Muchas Gracias.

We choose the Crown Plaza because it is the only one which provides 2 double beds. We got our room in the quiet zone which was very nice and also really quiet.
But I do have a little critizism - the bedding (duvet) is a bit loud (rustle)
the bathroom is huge but has a really small shower (?!) and there was no soapspender next to the bathtub (there is no extra toiletry in the rooms)
The TV could be less complicated (even we are really experienced users we couldnt figure it out how to change language etc.) or put a smart TV in.
Nice would be (because you were not fully booked at all) that you dont put someone next doors - I think we had flight attenends which came around 1.00 and left 6.00 and didnt bother to get off their shoes on a wooden floor (was a lot of tapping and walking)
Nice would be a proper quick breakfast option in the restaurant - a kind little express breakfast (I know you offer some takeaway express breakfast)
Great is the free shuttle service from and to the airport.

We stayed here due to a long connection between flights. The room was a great size and was extremely clean. The restaurant staff are on hand to assist always as my wife has a gluten intolerance and they found an alternative immediately. The front desk staff upon arriving had everything organised and kept well sanitised during the whole check in process which made us feel at ease due to the current situation.

I would use the hotel again should I need to! Thank you for being to professional

This hotel is MUCH further from the airport than indicated. Most of the time you will need a taxi costing you an extra 30 euros from the airport as they only lay on shuttles a couple of times a day. Service is friendly and room is clean but no USB ports for charging your tools so you still need to dig out your adapter with USB ports. All of the electrics need an overhaul as the lights do not sync meaning you cannot operate all of the room from one switch e.g. reading lights on the opposite side of the bed stay on even if you want to switch off all light sources. Chamber maid had not checked connection for desk lamp so I had to crawl underneath the desk to plug in and switch on. Cable was too short to put the switch on the desk. Inconvenient for an elderly person to crawl around on the floor in a bid to switch on the desk light. The hotel is in a warehouse area (Amazon Prime and car spare parts) so if you are planning on a nice bit of tapas in a bar, you will be stuck with the hotel only. This stay had been intended to keep me as close to the airport as possible for a cheap or free transfer the next day. I was really taken aback by the additional cost invovled and would not stay again!! The hotel is no better than the Holiday Inn just more expensive. I don't know what is going on with the IHG Group these days but they seem to be very keen to lose as many customers as possible ....

I have stayed often in this hotel and always enjoyed the property until this visit. On our recent stay only one restaurant was open and closed at 9:45 this made it impossible to find anywhere to eat as there is nothing nearly by. Also only one person on staff so literally 30 minute wait to check in. So we arrived at 9pm but by the time we checked in no where to eat so went to bed hungry. Worse thing is we reserved the shuttle but were told the hotel would also book a taxi in case we could not get on shuttle and hotel would cancel if not needed. In morning desk manager said we would have to pay for taxi if we didn't take it. So we ended up paying 18 euro for a taxi to airport even though the shuttle didn't seem to be full. Apparently they are running a smaller shuttle now and sharing with another hotel only once an hour. The point is don't advertise a free shuttle to airport if it's not available and if its full hotel should pay for taxi. The reason to stay at this hotel is its shuttle and restaurant and bar. If none are available then why stay here? Plenty of alternatives with open resturants and a reliable airport shuttle.

Dera janiceinatlanta, Thank you for your detailed review. I am sorry that you had, on this last stay, an unsatisfactory experience. I have well noted all your comments and will follow up on the different matters to ensure that we do not have such circumstances reoccurring in the future. I will also investigate further in regards to the shuttle on that particular day but, in regards to the Restaurant, I am quite surprised that they did not serve you as our Restaurant closure time is at 10pm but you could have ordered your dinner through room service. As you may have seen in previous stays, our aim is to provide an exceptional service and, therefore, we feel truly sorry that you had to leave the hotel with this unpleasant memory. I would kindly invite you to contact me directly on your next trip to Madrid and I will personally look after you to ensure a wonderful experience and, again, please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused. Crowne Plaza Madrid Airport Hotel is a nice four star hotel in Madrid Barajas International Airport (MAD) with free Airport Shuttle and therefore very convenient (and very practical) if you want to stay one night near the airport (e.g.late arrival, early departure, etc.)
The Crowne Plaza Madrid Airport Hotel is a comfortable hotel (nice bedding, spacious room, very clean, modern design) and above all very good service of the staff (e.g. polite and helpful) throughout of the hotel.
The room also had a work desk and enough electrical sockets for charging all devices (e.g. mobile phone, laptop, etc.) as well as quick and free WiFi throughout the hotel.
In Summary I liked my stay at The Crowne Plaza Madrid Airport Hotel (very good service, very good value for money) and I would stay again if I must stay close to the airport for one night.

Booking a couple of weeks in advance I got an excellent price for a Sunday night in January. On arrival at the airport I went outside as instructed planning to call for the shuttle but in fact found it waiting. It took about 10 minutes to get to the hotel. The following morning, it took 15 minutes to return to the airport.

Room was great; quiet, comfortable, good internet. I had requested in advance a quiet room at the end of the corridor away from lifts, and that's exactly what I received.

Bed was comfortable and I slept well.

Reception staff were very friendly and helpful; I did not deal with anyone else while I was there.

Location is uninspiring, and nothing really close by, but for a one night stay using the airport shuttle, this is not an issue.

I'd stay again without hesitation.

Husband’s work trip tag along. He had to be near the airport, we needed two non-twin size beds, and this fit the need. Yes, you can hear take offs, but double windows make it much, much less noticeable.
There’s a market and a mall close by. The front desk staff is helpful and the restaurant staff works hard; the breakfast is fresh and replenished throughout the service. Everyone is very friendly.
The family room has two beds that are NOT Queen size beds. Maybe a European double, but barely much wider than a twin. It did have plenty of space and closets and drawers galore!!! Plenty of space for our week long stay and all of our stuff, including some medical equipment.
The bus stop is “5minutes” away…maybe on skates. The bus stop schedule is a joke-they kind of come when they want, so plan to Uber if you have to be on time.
The surrounding area does not have much in the way of walkable go to’s though. Had to get Uber to go to grocery, laundry, anywhere to eat besides in the hotel, but we had great recs from the staff of places to go. Looks like area was being built up and construction companies just walked away. Sad, but doesn’t appear unsafe. Overall, I’d stay here again if I had to be close to the airport.

There is a very long transfer from terminal 4 at Madrid airport. However the hotel provided a shuttle service to and from the airport so we booked this hotel.
The room was very clean - a bit outdated - and I would say this hotel was not in the league of other Crowne Plaza Hotels.
The biggest drawback to the hotel is that the shuttle finished at 2245 but did not restart until 0700 which I found astonishing. (Consequently we to book a taxi in the morning). That said the guy that picked us up was very accommodating at the airport as we were nearly 5 minutes late.
We got an excellent rate at this hotel - probably because many are in the know that the shuttle service is very limited and the hotel had to price accordingly.

I, personally, with luggage would take the bus from Atocha train station to the airport, T1. Then get the hotel shuttle. You could map it on google to see what metro station would be nearest but you’d still probably need a taxi. The bus to airport is 5€ and leaves from “ upstairs” outside. Or take a taxi.. from Atocha, probably 30€. I chose this hotel because of reputation and PRICE but there are many nice ones near Varajas if this one is not competitive. But we really enjoyed that nearby restaurant .. although the hotel does have a small one itself.

Hello Samantha, Yes, we do offer complimentary shuttle from and to the airport. The service is subject to availability and is upon request. Once landed and with your luggage, please do contact the hotel to arrange the pick up. The shuttle runs from the airport every hour from 8am until 22:00 (being the last one at 22:45) and from 7am until 22:30 (leaving the hotel at half past, every hour). Thank you very much.
