Stayed for one night in this historic Madrid hotel. Service is fantastic, and everyone at the hotel was pleasant and helpful. However, the condition of the rooms is not what's expected of a five star property managed by Mandarin Oriental. The bathrooms show their age, mattress is old and uncomfortable, and there is smell in the carpeting. It's a nice...

Our 2nd stay at Ritz Madrid was absolutely heavenly. Returning guests are welcomed with recognition and style. I love the feeling of staying in a hotel where they make you feel special and pampered. At Ritz we certainly felt like royalties. We were well taken care of by each and everyone from the staff. There were lovely welcome surprises waiting...

It is a historic hotel that has been beautifully maintained. The rooms are somewhat dated but very very comfortable. It is close to Prado Museum. And you can use it as a base to walk all over town. Client support is superb.

We stayed at the Ritz on our first night of a recent business trip. The hotel picked us up at the airport - the pick-up process was seamless and fast. We were a weary after an overnight flight and, luckily, the kind staff at the front desk was able to find us a room that had just been cleaned an...

My husband and I stayed for 4 nights. The room was showing its age. Yes, the hotel is old but beautifully maintained. The staff members were helpful. The best part of their service is they pay very close attention to the guests and they are there when you need them. Not too much, not too heavy but their service is...

The Ritz Madrid is just remarkable for its location service and history. You are realy having fun and enjoying to stay there. The converge services at Ritz make your stay very easy. The breakfast is 2-3 hour Spanish cousine adventure. The Goya restaurant is place to book for the noble dinner for 2 or more persons.

In writing this I confess to knowing that the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is closing this hotel on January 12, 2018 for a complete renovation. It needs it. The property looks like your grandparents house left to rundown to the point where the carpets are threadbare and the rooms, especially the bathrooms, are rubbish. But now part of the best...

Staying in Paseo del Prado

Neighbourhood Profile
Paseo del Prado
The area around the elegant Paseo del Prado boulevard is much-visited by both locals and tourists. The world-famous Prado, the Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza museums form a triangle of art and culture that spans this grand and beautiful avenue. On weekdays, the Prado Museum opens its doors for free after-work hours, drawing a diverse and excited queue of art lovers that wraps around the block. Palacio de Cibeles and Círculo de Bellas Artes cultural centers are other artsy hangouts to check out, with rooftop bars that provide impressive views of the city. While the Paseo del Prado and its roundabouts form a busy throughway in Madrid, a broad green pedestrian park in the middle is a calm and gorgeous place for a relaxing stroll. Just east of the museums, the Retiro Park is always a confluence of activity as families and friends of all ages take to the pretty paths and lawns to stretch their legs or to have a picnic.
