My wife and I checked in to this hotel on 21st September 2022 for a 7 night stay. Arriving very early after an early morning flight we didnt expect our room to be ready and it wasnt. However shortly after mid day it was and we were delighted to find that er were upgraded and got a lovely room on the third floor overlooking Calle Atocha. Do not be put off about reviews commenting on noise . Yes on some mornings we did hear the garbage trucks. It is to be expected in a city, rubbish has to be collected. On one other night at 3am we heard one man shouting . That was is. One can walk from the main Train/Bus station to this hotel. It is centrally located for all the sights. The room, and hotel public areas were spotless clean. The breakfast was good. the coffee docks got a bit crowded on busy mornings . However full 5 star marks must go to the staff. From the moment I emailed them , to checking in and passing them going through and from the hotel I can only say they were friendly, professional, helpful and they made one feel that you were a valued guest. Finally , there is a lovely roof top terrace with a bar to chill out in after a days sightseeing. I recommend this hotel for couples.…
Stayed here for three nights recently, super experience and staff so friendly. From the bar to Breakfast all the staff made the stay a lovely experience. I would highly recommend the hotel. I will be returning.
Nice, modern hotel with very service located some 10 min by foot from the Atocha train station. Service is very friendly. Rooms are modern, clean and well furnished; excellent bathroom and shower. Came here for a business trip in early December 2022 and have absolutely no complaints about this hotel - will definitely return.,
We spent the first and last night in Spain here. We had the junior suite both times. Lovely room, uniquely decorated. Front desk staff were very helpful. Our flight arrived mid morning so we were able to store our luggage and begin touring Madrid until our room was ready to check-in. The hotel is a convenient walk to many of the sites and also Atocha train station which is one of the reasons that I chose it. The included breakfast was really good with lots of selection. The only downside of the room was some noise from Calle Atocha and sometimes you could hear the subway trains arriving at the nearby station.
Nice bedroom, very good breakfast, and excellent location (either for walking or to take public transportation). Very nice staff. Just hope the wifi connection will work better next time. Would definitely consider this hotel for a future stay in Madrid.
We spent 2 nights at Catalonia atocha. The staff was friendly and swift at check-in and check-out. The staff very kindly delivered a bottle of cava in celebration of our anniversary. We selected this hotel for proximity to the train. The one item to be aware of is the hotel is currently doing some work on the exterior. The noise from that work was 8am-5/6 pm when we were there. I was bummed to not be able to see the beautiful exterior but look forward to seeing at when completed on a future trip.
Hotel stay was wonderful and seamless after a long trip. Worked as a charm for our minivacation. Would recommend to anyone that wants to stay near Madrid iconic places. Our room was excellent maintained and all the services were right on the spot. Thanks!!
Had expected better rooms when we booked the suite. It was elegant, but very dark and too few pegs and plugs. The bathroom floor was very slippery when wet. Dangerous. wifi was very secure so had to use 4G on own subscription. Hard to get to the wardrobe
I stayed in room 407, which was very clean and plenty of room. The view out the window was an inside courtyard, so only other windows, but I only looked out once, so who cares. They do not have washcloths or bath mats. I used a towel in the shower to stand on. Everything else was wonderful.
A comfortable, well located hotel in Madrid only a short walk to El Retiro park and gardens and the art gallery district. There are also plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars within minuters' walk, in pretty much every direction. Our room was a little stuffy with one window that opened onto an central atrium, but the air conditioner generally fixed that. Special mention for the excellent shower and the well-appointed buffet breakfast.
