Hotel is being renewed and we were very surprised to find a "battlefield" in the reception when we arrived - this should have been mentioned during booking. Although reception staff mentioned it wouldn't be noisy in the room, we woke up in the next morning with a lot of noise. We were lucky we have booked just one night, as...

The hotel is currently undergoing renovation so it may be better afterwards, but currently, the place should be shut down - the hallways, lifts, reception and breakfast area are covered in dust. I'm surprised they are allowed to serve breakfast in such an environment. There is dust and debris all over the floor, and dust all over the counters. The...

We stayed for 4 nights in early May 2017. The hotel is still under renovation. I asked for a high floor room with a view and informed the hotel via email that the trip was a surprise birthday trip for my partner. We got a room on the 5th floor but the windows were locked and covered in film 'frosting'...

We stayed at the hotel between the 8-10 May 2017. While the room was clean and comfortable (no doubt due to the recent renovation work) we were not expecting the hotel to resemble a building site. We booked the room through Hotels.com where there was no mention of ongoing renovation work. We also checked the hotels own website where it...

We Just had 3 nights at this hotel with 2 other couples . Yes the building work is still on going .but it really didn't effect us other than having to wait for the lift stairwell has no exit at the bottom. The newly refurbished rooms are 1st class the beds are really comfortable. And Rooms kept spotlessly clean. Coffee...

Good location, close to the Metro and bus routes. My newly renovated room was really nice, really like direction they were going in. A word of warning, they are still busy with renovations so you have to enter the hotel through a make shift door and make shift reception which detracts from the experience. I'm sure when it's alt done...

Stayed this hotel last year enjoyed it then. Nightmare this year undergoing renovation. Not mentioned to us anywhere in the booking process. Ear plugs on the pillow was a great give away. Noisy dusty, breakfast experience was horrendous no tables long queues limited choice. Staff indifferent to any complaints. Never again.

Stayed here while they were renovating the exterior but wasn't bothered by it since we were mostly out and about. Very close to the grand via shopping and walking distance to major tourist sites like the palace. Even with the refurbishment of the rooms we were in some of the amenities felt old.

Good hotel, but under renovation (in nov/16). Rooms big and confortable, old, but wuth the reform I think it will be change in next time. Good service and location, so many restaurants around the hotel, that you could go walking. Some touristic places near also.

Staying in Arguelles

Neighbourhood Profile
Arguelles
Just south of the sprawling campus of the Complutense University of Madrid, Arguelles exudes a fast-paced, collegiate vibe. The main street, Calle Princesa, is filled with twenty-somethings rushing between classes and errands, meeting up with classmates, and grabbing cheap beers and cheap eats. This is a prime shopping spot where the major Spanish clothing and department store chains are less busy than their downtown counterparts, and there is an array of casual dining options to choose from. Check out nearby outdoor spaces such as the lushly planted Plaza de España to the south, which is often filled with craft stalls. To the west of Arguelles is the giant Parque Oueste, a calm and picturesque park with its own Egyptian temple.
