It's just of Gran Via on 5 minute walk from Metro station by same name. The entrance is unassuming with a security guard and two lifts, which will take to the first floor where reception is. The staff is very friendly and everything in the hotel looks functional, modern and clean. My room was average size with a comfortable bed...

The Tryp Cibeles was a wonderful gem with a beautiful marriage of old world and new. The reception staff (Lorenzo) was professional and made excellent dining suggestions since this was our first trip to Spain. The location of the reception desk was odd and small. It only fits 2-4 people with luggage at most. I believe it would function better...

Just come back from 2 nights at this hotel. We had a premium room which was really big and clean and our balcony overlooked Gran Via. There was a big bathroom with a nice shower. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Bed was massive and comfortable. Although there was a lot of noise from the main road, this did not...

The air condition didn't work, so I had to sleep with open window, which was quite noisy. I complained, but the reception told me the a/c was not supposed to work. The hotel has no facilities beyond the central location, and the lobby is not suitable for anything else but breakfast.

The hotel was great. The staff was polite, Rooms are big, clean and comfy. Location is in the center of town - Everything is a walk away from the hotel. I will probably come back to the same hotel again.

The hotel is central to everything making it such great location. The rooms are clean, spacious and lots of choice for breakfast however our room was at the front of the hotel and I could only sleep with ear plugs. The traffic and noice from passers by was constant until about 3.

This hotel is right off of Gran Via which makes it close to everything. You can walk to museums, restaurants, shops, transportation, etc. The rooms are ample size and offer bathroom amenities (razor kit, dental kit, comb, sponge) in addition to shampoo, etc. The breakfast buffet was wonderful with lots of choices for any palate. Check-in was interesting in that...

Staying in Malasana

Neighbourhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighbourhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.

“As in any Hotel Tripp, they do no provide a bar soap, they give you liquid soap to be also used as hair shampoo. There is no hair conditioner. Yet they give you toiletries which are very beneficial for the trip and for other trips in the future, including shaving blade and cream, toothbrush and toothpaste, hair comb, sponge for bath, shoe shining sponge, etc.”
