I had read other reviews about the hotel and the area and was concerned when my bid on Priceline was accepted. After staying there, I have no issues with the hotel or area. The hotel staff was helpful and I found the hotel to be clean and safe. The area is fine and I had no issues walking at night...

Located a walking distance from main train station, this hotel is a better option for business travellers rather than for tourists. My room was located on the 1st floor near metting rooms so at 7 am i would hear some noise from the hotel staff preparing the room for meetings. The room is confortable, the bathroom what you would expect.

We stayed here first 2 nights as part of the Trafalgar Wonders of Spain Tour. Nice hotel with very friendly staff. The surrounding area is nice also, some nice cafes (towards the train station, take the second left), nearby ATMs, and even some nice small shops. Within walking distance to Atocha train station and museums. Only problem we had was...

Clean hotel with decent rooms. It's a real business hotel. Hardly any attention of staff. I paid 70 euro per night via priceline.com. Breakfast is 15 euro, but also nice bakery around the corner where you can get a coffea and croissant. About 8 minute walk to nearest metro station. 30 minute walk to Sol. The neighbourhood is a residential...

We stayed at the Rafael Atocha while on our Trafalgar tour of Spain. We found the rooms to be clean and fine, but the street that you have to walk along past some very scary and seedy people to get to the centre of town is very intimidating. I was nervous as well as my husband and our four friends. The...

I stayed at this hotel for one night during a business trip in Spain in July 2008. I chose this hotel because it was quite near the train station Atocha and I needed to leave quite early in the morning by train. However, once there I realised that it was a good 20mn walk from the station, I do not...

I was extremely impresessed with this hotel. Okay it is a short walk from the centre of Madrid but there is a taxi rank right outside where you can jump in and spend less than 6 Euros goin to any part of the old town. I do not agree that the rooms were "spartan" as the previous review stated. In...

When you see the rates for the Rafaelhoteles Atocha, you should know that you are not booking a luxury property, but a discount hotel. With that understanding, you should not be disappointed in this hotel. The rooms are simple and spartan, but clean. The staff does not provide 5-star service, but they are at least competent. The breakfast is not...
