Is it the location? Is it the brilliant staff? Or the wonderful food? The comfortable bed in a great room? Perhaps a terrific check-in experience? The knowledgable concierge? That it is an oasis in a busy city? Or perhaps a luxury touch to your every need? Well, this place has all of the above. I have travelled to many cities in my life and this hotel (and city!) is just fabulous. Flawless in every way. You will not be disappointed if you come here!
Our stay at Los Duques was one of our favourite holidays. It’s a combination of the beautiful decor, comfortable rooms, delicious food, and that courtyard - perfect in many ways. In my opinion, hotel experiences are made special by the staff and Los Duques excels. Absolutely every staff member is a delight to chat with or share a smile and ‘buenos dias’. I tried to capture staff names but there are too many which only reinforces that everyone is commendable whether mentioned here or not. In Coroa, Xiojang, Borja, Adrian, Arturo, and Bilal (hope you get to visit New York City!). Christina, the concierge with excellent restaurant recommendations. All the front desk crew, clenaing staff, security, and doormen (Hector and Melia’s very own Usain Bolt :-)). We bookended our stay in Madrid with Los Duques and it was the perfect way to start and end our Spanish adventure. We very much look forward to a return visit.…
The overall experience is amazing. From the staff willingness to help via the food , rooms and location. There's also free shuttle that will take you free of charge to close-by destinations on a space-available basis
From the moment we arrived, we felt extremely well looked after. Everyone from the doorman, to the concierge to the reception staff, were all extremely pleasant and helpful. We would always bump into this gentleman at the lobby every morning (maybe the assistant/duty GM or something?) and he was always happy to see us and asking about our plans and giving us recommendations. What I really liked about this place was that housekeeping came at least thrice a day. We never felt that we were lacking anything - whether it is a fresh towel or toiletries. Also, quick shout out to the very nice lady who came by my room every night for turndown - always nice to be able to get some water and any last minute essentials before turning in for the night. This is truly a luxury hotel and I would recommend this hotel to my friends without hesitation. Oh, and the turndown snack - the chatitas were excellent. We were so impressed by them and we went to buy 4 boxes of it from Gran Via!…
Beautiful sophisticated setting with excellent staff, food, drink and in the heart of everything. Couldn’t fault it. Everything is top class but not overpriced in my opinion either. You can walk out the door to the most amazing sights and shops. I hate that I’m having to leave but it’ll be where I stay when I return no hesitation.
Wonderful experience from the moment our cab arrived to when we l left. Entire staff was helpful and very service oriented. Room accommodations were first rate and breakfast buffet was plentiful. The hotel is located in a more quite part of town but still easy walking distance to museums and parks.
I cannot fault this hotel. From arrival, through check in, concierge, bar and restaurant. The professionalism of every staff member sets this hotel apart from any I have had the privilege to visit. Dos Cielos is an experience to savour. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Everything is perfect. The location, the staff, the food, the beds, the pillows and linens. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. We got a smaller room because we wanted a view of the garden with french doors. The bathroom is peculiar- as though after it was finished they remembered they needed a bathtub and plopped it in the shower. But it worked. I would very, very happily stay here again and happily recommend it .
The Palacio de Los Duques Gran Melia is an excellent hotel. The hotel is located off the Gran Via on a small street. It has a wonderful boutique feel with warm, friendly service. The location is very close to the palace and cathedral. The rooms are bright, spacious and modern. The bathrooms are wonderfully appointed with large bath tubs and waterfall showers. If I had any small complaint, it would be in regard to the variety of food options in the red-level service. We specially upgraded to the red-level room(s) and while the quality of breakfast snacks were good, there was absolutely no variance over the 5 days we stayed at the hotel. In retrospect, The red level room is off reception and it didn't really feel exclusive, just more separate. Often, we would just sit in the regular lounge where it was much more lively. While we would stay in the hotel again, I don't think we would stay in a red-level room. …
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The location is good and is very close to the cathedral and palace. All other things are about a 10 minute walk. The rooms are comfy and spacious. The restrooms are nice and housekeeping comes daily to clean it. Breakfast is a buffet and has many yummy options. We stayed at three different hotels in Spain and this one was my favorite! We loved Hector who was very friendly and helpful.
