We stayed here for 3 nights. the staff were really nice and the hotel very near the city centre. It was very clean but old. No one to help with a heavy suitcase, we had to walk a long way to our room with the suitcase ,we realised later that we could have gone out of the main door and...

While the location of the hotel was great, we were overall disappointed. The hotel only uses AC in the months of June, July, and August, and since we visited mid April our room was sweltering. It reached 80 degrees during the day and yet we still were sweating in our room. We slept with cold wet towels to try and...

We stayed here for 4 nights whilst we were enjoying a short break in Madrid. The hotel is very centrally placed (two metro stations on two different lines within a short walk of the hotel (one down the hill - Plaza de Espana - and the other (Santo Domingo) at the top of the hill), and it seemed to be...

Central location. We got to Madrid, parked the car; could have taken the metro (nearby is: Callao, Santo Domingo or Plaza de España) but decided to walk everywhere - simply great. Perfect - very convenient location. We're sightseeing all day so didn't spend a lot of time in hotel room. Stylish, clean, comfortable, spacious room, everything worked, breakfast in a...

The hotel was very clean and in an excellent location for accessing all areas of Madrid by foot or metro if preferred. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was more than adequate. The room was cleaned every day and towels changed. Wifi worked well. The only downfalls were that the hotel could do with an update in...

The room's are clean. The breakfast was included an it's very good. They don't charge for parking but ask for 20€ for deposit of the parming key. The locals aren't very polite but in the hotel is diferent. I recomend this hotel. And is walking distance to some of the important places in Madrid.

The location of the hotel is very good, very close to the center, and to the metro station. Our room was very clean, they cleaned the room every day ( new towels, new soap). The room is big enough for two people, and we had everything we needed, including TV. * In the third day our Tv stopped working, we...

We stayed at this hotel for our recent break in Madrid. The hotel was very clean, with friendly, polite staff and centrally located. We included breakfast in our hotel package which had something for everyone. We would stay at this hotel again as it's ideal for location and value for money. We

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
