This is located in a great part of town close to many great special places to eat, shop, walk in the park and people watch. Inside the hotel you feel like you are in a grand London hotel during the turn of the century. The service is unmatched. Great place to stay if you are just arriving from out of...

Spent the weekend here and really enjoyed the luxurious feeling of this hotel. The staff was friendly, the rooms very comfortable with more than whatever you could need, and the breakfast was absolutely incredible. I hope to go back.

It is an old hotel with older fixtures. Good location and staff are friendly. Walking distance to nearby Royal botanic garden and park. The hop on,hop off bus stop is right at the front entrance, very convenient. Acoustic of washroom is so so, you can hear next room sound of shower .

We have just returned home from a wonderful weekend away, staying at the Wellington Hotel and would love to still be there! We always research well and this hotel ticked every box. The room was great with lovely Clarins products and the bed was just right with lots of soft pillows to choose from. The breakfast was spot on and...

I only stayed here for one night but the hotel is beautiful and the staff was great. There were zero things wrong with the room. The Wellington Club had amazing snacks and drinks. And breakfast was insane.

I stayed there for the second time because my assistant booked without asking; would not have otherwise... would much prefer a new clean 4 star in barrio Salamanca like the petit palais or the NH. This place must have been great in the 70s or 80s... but now it is just an old hotel, desperatly needing a face-lift. To be...

Stayed 5 nights - location excellent. Room was extremely small with two twin beds. Room was always clean. Staff very helpful with any questions. I wish there was information in the room on dining options at the hotel. We stumbled into the bar on our last evening and wish we found it earlier in our stay.

We have stayed at the Wellington several times and each time it is wonderful. The location is perfect, the building is very nice, the staff is courteous and helpful, the breakfast is beyond all expectations, and it is just superb in every way. The Wellington definitely deserves its five star rating.

I organised an offsite meeting here for 40 people. Very good location, lovely hotel and incredible staff. Anything that wasn't perfect was dealt with quickly and efficiently by friendly and courteous staff. Only thing to check out when booking (and only due to the very central location), there may be some external noise. One or two of my group had...

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighbourhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighbourhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
