We spent 3 nights at the hotel over New Year’s Eve. The hotel is located on Princesa street, a 5-minute walk from Espana square, which is a semi-convenient location. The hotel was nicely decorated in the holidays spirit. We checked in at 1PM and were allocated room 1219, which is the LEVEL twin room we originally booked. The room was smallish, on the 12th (and last) floor, featured a view of some tall buildings near Espana square and other sights of Madrid. It also featured 2 narrow beds, a safe, minibar, TV, open space closet, a coffee table and 2 chairs. The bathroom featured 2 small sinks, a toilet, a useless bidet and a bath tub with shower in it (no separate shower). The bathroom amenities were the usual Rituals brand, which were only available in dispensers (which were high out of reach if you decided to take abath). The room was not light-proofed and was certainly not sound-proofed, as you could hear the traffic from the street all night long. As a gift towards New Year’s Eve, the hotel brought 2 packs of 12 grapes and a bottle of water to our room. According to the note we’ve received, it should’ve been champagne, but hey… . The A/C was set to only heat, which was annoying since it was 20 degrees outside, so we ended up having the window open most of the time. Housekeeping was only OK with the attendant not filling up the toiletries when they were out. The hotel featured a tiny pool with 2 small jacuzzis (a freezing one and a mildly hot one). Breakfast at the Mosaic restaurant, which was included in our rate was truly bad and felt like a 3-star hotel breakfast. In fact, it was so bad, that we tried it only once and had the rest of our breakfasts at the LEVEL lounge. I’ve written a separate review about this restaurant. The LEVEL lounge was the only semi-positive feature of the hotel. It is located at the end of a flight of stairs next to the reception, with 2-3 receptioninsts sitting there and occasionally monitoring who is getting into the lounge. During the first day, the lounge was nicely stocked with tapas-style food throughout the day without it changing much. Unfortunately, during New Year’s Eve day and the following day, things got worse, as the food was very lackluster and was not replenished. On regular days, the lounge is open from the early morning from breakfast and then from 1PM until 11PM, but the hotel decided to close it early on New Year’s Eve – at 9PM, and stopped re-stocking the food at apx. 7PM. Most of the food was based on sweets, cookies, croissants, hot and cold drink, several wines, crisps, small salads, some cheese, hummus, and other cold cuts. Bottom line – while this wasn’t a bad stay, it was certainly not a memorable one, as the hotel fell short on delivering anything near a 5-star experience. So yes, if you’re looking for an ordinary 4-star hotel in Madrid, this can be your choice, as long as you don’t expect a 5-star experience.…
Amazing romantic room! Clean , spacious and everyone was extremely friendly! Thumps up, definitely coming back! The level service was top notch! Adds the cheery on top to the beautiful hotel . We had an amazing night away! Thank you to all the amazing staff!
The best hotel in Madrid. We had a very nice welcome by Sara who give us great recommendations for the City. The Level experience is more than great and I can only recommend it. We booked a massage at the Spa and had received a wonderful service from Luisa and Elena, very relaxing after a long day. The tea they offered us after the massage is very tasty. I can only tell that I have found my second home in Madrid. Keep on the great job team you are wonderful. Well done!!!
We stayed at the Melia Princesa for a weekend trip to Madrid. The hotel is conveniently located close to Plaza de Espana and Ventura Rodriquez metro station. Since our inbound flight to Madrid was delayed be arrived relatively late in the evening at the hotel just after a bus-load of stranded travelers that missed connecting flights that evening. This delayed our check-in by around 20 minutes. Despite the business at this uncommon hour the front desk staff remained professional and handled the volume very quickly. Our room was located on the 10th floor with a nice view of the Parque Casa de Campo. The room featured modern interior, was clean and of decent size. Bathroom size is also very decent with “Rituals” amenities being provided. Since my wife had to iron one of her dresses, we also requested and iron and ironing board from the reception which was delivered very quickly to our room by a friendly staff member. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the hotel and we would also stay here again.…
Can honestly say it was one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay as enjoyable as possible, and were on hand to help with anything we needed. The room was of a really high standard and had an amazing view. If you're looking to make the stay even more special I'd suggest paying for 'The Level' access - free food and drink, which was perfect for us as we fancied relaxing in the hotel for a few hours before heading out. Next time I'm back in Madrid I'll definitely be staying here again.
We chose to spend Christmas in Madrid and the Meliá as our temporary home and we had a great experience! We were very well received, the room was pleasant, the staff amazing and the location perfect to allow us to walk almost everywhere within Central Madrid. All of our requests were promptly accommodated and even though it was the first time spending Christmas away we always felt at home.
Awesome hotel!!! Customer Service top-notch and very good location. We booked our stay with the "Level " private area which includes all sorts of drinks, Tapas and breakfast. Room very clean and modern. Definetely I will stay again in the near future.
English review at first, Spanish review follows. A great sophisticated, genuine and organic experience, all at once! Not easy to find a place that is so styled and at the same time makes you feel like home, or even better ! Guest and staff were amazing, food was fantastic, delicious with a great variety of healthy choices! The Level experience is a top notch option! Meliá Princesa Madrid has been one of the best hotels I have stayed ! ( and I visit hotels quiet frequently). I’ll definitely will be back! Spanish Una experiencia Sofia ti casa, genuina y orgánica!
Loved this hotel!! Sleek, surgically clean with top notch personnel and the best, most abundant breakfast buffet I have ever seen!! That said it all, but apparently I must write more so this review can be published. Definitely recommend the Melia Madrid Princesa.
Beautiful hotel, at the center of Madrid. Close to Grand Via street. The stuff here is great. Dinner was very good. Everything was fresh and delicious. The room is big, clean and very nice. Good Bathroom, clean towels I really don't need any more. Highly recommend
