We stayed here on January 21, 2017 for four nights. The hotel is within a short walk of the Metro Sol, which itself is only a few stops from Metro Atocha if you are coming by train. Many of Madrid's attractions such as the Plaza Mayor, the Royal Palace and Mercado San Miguel are within an easy walk from the...

Stayed here for 3 nights in a superior double room, separate living area and plenty of closet space, very comfortable bed, only gripe , no coffee/ tea making facilities and no iron / ironing board, only for that I would have given it 5 stars, beautiful hotel & great location to all major sights ,metro & shops, I would definitely...

Great location, very close to Sol and Gran Via, in the middle of everything. Check-in and check-out were ok. We were especially touched by one of the employees, Marcos Diaz. After leaving the hotel, in the airport, we discovered that we forgot something valuable in the room safe. Calling the hotel, I reached Marcos and he went out of his...

Great hotel for 4 nights in Madrid. Super convenient location, yet still very quiet for sleep at night. It was clean and modern, and had all amenities. The staff was friendly and easy to work with. I highly recommend this place!

This hotel is excellent for visitors to Madrid, set in the heart of Madrid. Very comfortable, quality breakfast included in room Rate which was very reasonable. Easy access from hotel to all destinations, rail, bus, taxis or tourist information. The concierge is also very helpful for recommendations.

PROS - Good central position, Reasonably priced bar/café, Good concierge service, Clean and tidy. CONS - Late night noise(2-3am), daytime jackhammer building noise across street, very frosty check-in, non-fitting bath plugs, no air conditioning(open your windows?), dated interiors, not for young people. Stayed as a couple for 4 nights. Took a taxi from the airport for a fixed price of...

The Hotel is directly in the city center of Madrid. Based on a side street so it’s still quiet for a good night sleep. Taxi fare from the airport is 30€ fixed rate. Everything is really clean and big rooms. They include a safe and mini-bar. Plenty of pillows, blankets and mirrors. The staff is really nice. Only disappointed that...

I stayed at Liabeny for two nights on a business trip. Overall the hotel turned out more or less as I expected based on other reviews and the price. I had what I think was one of the more basic doubles on the first floor with a view of the narrow street outside (not a particularly nice view but I...

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
